Shinko tire update/usage - 9/5/2008 6:39:53 PM    njdjh2o   Posts: 230 Joined: 2/18/2008 Status: offline Ok, I had the Shinko tire on for sometime and I already need a new rear.  The Front is hold out, but the rear is done.  I do 140 mile of highway riding a day, the center of the tire is 98% balded.  But, I do still like them, I have not complains on the handling, but the wear is stupid fast.  I was hoping they last a riding season or two, but that is not the case.  Maybe because I ride alot or maybe it because of the soft rubber. I will buy another rear tire, but this is just my opinion on them. Post #: 1

RE: Shinko tire update/usage - 9/5/2008 6:57:59 PM    Hurricane rider   Posts: 634 Joined: 8/23/2008 Status: offline its the combination of long trips and soft rubber.  poor combination for long lifespan of rear tires.  soft rubber compounds wear WAY quicker, but give best grips.  Personally, I like a compromise with medium compounds for the best of both worlds.
