Awesome, Thanks so much!!! So, when you look at it up close, does it looked scuffed at all, or does it look like a mirror finish. I have never seen one personally done, sorry for the questions.

When it was first done, it looked fabulous! Bright and shiny. However over the course of the summer, with all the riding and getting road grime, chain lube and the like on it, it has dulled a bit. I need to use some Mothers again to shine it up. I'm sure with the use of a polisher perhaps on a drill or the like, I could get it even more like a chrome finish, but that's gonna be a winter project if I decide I want to tackle it. Good luck!

Looks really good. I can't decide if I should polish mine or do rim stripes. I have the stripes, but not installed, and will see if I like them and go from there.

Where did you get your seat cover from? I want to find a red one instead of getting a targa cowl.

hey, check this out on ebay. custom seat cover with many colors to choose. item # 160017083155

there's nothing that says you can't do both

and as to the comments to not do polishing w/out taking wheels off, i did mine with wheels on and w/out a stand ... but it's tedious and it's correct that you need to be careful to not get it on tires.

as far as difficulty to curve the stripes that can easily be solved by ordering the precurved ones off ebay (they're rather inexpensive) .. i got the reflective silver ones so it blends in during the day but reflects back at night when lights hit it ... safety first :)

I'd recommend Wenol polish. You won't believe how easy it is with that stuff. I polished my dirtbike frame with it. You should be able to get a mirror finish in mins by hand.

the lip is simple, as for doing the full rim have fun.................. i did the lip.......and wanted more so im doing the whole thing. I have 5 hours on the back rim and am under half way done. all i can say is be prepared to sand till your fingers bleed lol. and have many hours of spare time, a power drill and buffer. honda pitting is ridiculous. 80, 180, 350, 600, 800, 2000 grit paper wil also be needed for a chrome like shine.

notice the machine marks you have to rub out of the machined part.... that was enough for me, will leave the rough cast bit alone i think...

Here is another picture taken this fall. As you can see, the rims have stayed bright and shiny and I haven't done much other than wash them with soap and water when detailing the bike. Over the winter, I will probably take them off and repolish (just for fun!)

RCKT GRL. Do you have a pic of the product you used on the rims? I'm looking for it on the internet and it's pulling up all kinds of different stuff.
