For those who like to power wheelie it up. Fyi...they will burn up your clutch faster. I have already replaced two clutches from power wheelies. So I don''''''''t do them like that anymore. Clutch it up...its the way to go.

Walk Me through this, how would you recomend to power wheelie the F4i??  The easiest way for a newbi?  What gear should I be in? What rmp? What speed? etc?

well on my f4i which is all stock extcpet for slash cut exhaust whihc shouldnt make much differnce, you simply keep it in first, full throttle it to around 7-8.5kish (you listen for right time) and you let off and hit it full throttle again. when you let off simlpy let off n hit it right after again with no delay. that will get it up but tis not much fun.

My question is im tryin to learn how to clutch it up and everything i try isnt working. when i do it, it simply jerks my front end...doesnt come up at all. im in 2nd wheni try...is that right?

Why you say it is not much fun?  Do you just pull it up? or do you ride it out?

Does anyone else agree with my man how to do this on the F4i? Or want to give different adivice? Please give specifics

If your using the clutch and all its doing it jerking you then you need to bring your RPM''s up. Dont forget to cover the rear brake. Stay away from power wheelies, they offer much less control and lead to bad things...

Icedfire01 I seen that video before thanks.  And ya in that video he says the most basic wheelie is the throttle wheelie and to start with I am confused? But bakesf4i your saying those are more difficult?

The guy in the video isn''t saying that''s how you should be doing a wheelie, he''s just saying to do that until you get comfortable with the front end coming up. Once you get over your fear of being on one wheel, then you actually start doing real wheelies by clutching them.

I first learned to do wheelies by the "power band" way. How it works is you are in 1st gear, you ride your bike to around 30-35 mph or around 7-8k rpms. You let off the throttle, the front end will compress down and when the front end comes back up to normal position, your rip on the throttle as the front end is coming back up. The first time you do it your front wheel will probably only come up a few inches is all. The more you do it, the more you can feel the power of the throttle. The harder you rip on the throttle the higher the front end will come up. If you get scared and it comes up too high, just let off the throttle. Now here is the down side to this, this ripping of the throttle is also ripping on your clutch plates, or the friction plates, thus ending up burning your clutch up.

Now if you use the clutch to bring the front end up, this will not burn up the clutch...how this works is you are in 1st gear and you are going around 20-25 mph. You pull in the clutch lever and when your release the lever you are going to give the throttle gas, thus bringing up the front end. Now its going to come up really fast so, be careful.

+1 on staying the hell away from power wheelies.

I cant get th F4i to do them for the life of me but the clutch is so much more fun.
Roll from a stop staying in first.  Once you hit about 20 or so, quick pull of the cluch, fairly hard roll on the throttle and a release of the clutch.  THe harder you hit the throttle, the faster it will come up.

TAKE IT EASY and dont try to get it to come up too quick.  The first time you really hit it, you will probably pee a little. (i think i did a bit)  Take you time and twist the throttle more and more as you go.  Master the 1st gear leaving lights and such and then 2nd gear becomes easier.  (takes more balls and more on the throttle)

Ok so clutch wheelie.  Your in 1st gear doing like 25-35 mph, pull the clutch in and as the clutch is still in you roll on the throttle, BUT how many rpm''s should you rev up to before letting out the clutch just to get the front end up a inch or 2?

Its a bit hard to say, cuz every bike is a bit different. I changed my sprocket out to a -1 so mine is different than stock. I don''t really look at the rpms, I listen to my engine and exhaust.. You don''t give the throttle until you release the clutch, its a simultaneous action. Release clutch>give throttle at the same time.

DO NOT DO IT BY YOUR GUAGE!!!!
If you looking at your instruments the first time you try to pull it up that means your not looking at the road while trying to get on one wheel.  Not smart

If you just want to jump it up a bit about 4-5k would be my guess.

Learn it all by sound and feel.  Its safer and becomes easier than trying to do it by numbers

And the slip needs to be pretty quick but still smooth.Practice it before you go riding: pull, roll, release.

Ok Ok, this is the first ever attempt at a wheelie on the f4i, i swear. Bone stock, nothing but a Jardine slip one exhaust. So Yes, CLUTCH that biatch up and ride it like its meant to be ridden.......Oh yeah and the 2nd video is the first ride on the 636, but it was filmed from the f4i...=-)

I thought for the clutch wheelie you were supposed to rev the rpms up with clutch pulled in then dump the clutch and still continue to hold the throttle on to whatever level you need to to keep the front end up and continue to ride the wheelie???? BUT you guys are saying that you jus pull the clutch in for like a second and while the clutch is pulled in you are not give it ANY throttle? UNTIL you let the clutch out simultaneously then you rip some throttle??  RIGHT?

Oh no.  I roll the throttle basically as i''m pulling the clutch in. This helps the rpms rev faster due to no resistance from the clutch plate.  RPms spike, dump the throttle and be ready.
