If you break it down most would say there are 2 main ways to wheelie. The first way would be to get in 1st gear riding at about 5mph or so and then crack the throttle. Does anyone think the F4i doesnt have enough power in first gear at 5mph to lift the front up if you crack the throttle?? The second way is to do a clutch wheelie which I am guessing everyone would agree is very feesable for pretty much any bike.

1 won''t work until you get into the 8k rpm range. no low end torque on these bikes. my bike used to power wheelie, but not anymore for some reason. don''t think you can do it w/o a power commander. it''ll work if you blip the throttle though. it scares the shit out of me. 2 will work but it scares the shit out of me even more

2 main ways to wheelie Dunno about that mate ... ?? Wheelies ... hmmm They come in many forms .. Roll on type ( usually 1 gear ) if your ride is stock .. ( with a little effort ) Clutch style ... ( a learn''''t art ) .. that can give thrills beyond what ,most are looking for ... ( over the back we gooooo!!!!!) onto the road ... ouch !!!! Bump induced .. can be low speed low gear or ( high speed high gear if you are guttsy enough ) For the new-er dude''''s to wheelies, the low speed bump induced one''''s are a less freaky starter ... The best wheelies of all ... are the high speed ( ususally a highly mod-ed ride ) power style full on , roll-on style .... ( 60mph to 120 mph ) and covering a ton of road mate Your ride will not do these mate Your F4 will do near all of them except maybee the last .. reserved for the more high powered and usually highly mod-ed ride ... What ever you try ... do it on open road .. and for christ sake ... take it slowly mate.. wheelis are over rated ... I have done them all on many bikes including some very wild rides ... Remember mate : Practice makes perfect and there are no medals for throwing any ride down the road

power wheelie = get up to 7k ot 8k rpm, let off the throttle, compress the front shocks, WOT, lean back, enjoy (covering the rear is probably a good idea). clutch wheelie = ride along, pull in the clutch, rev to 10k or so while compressing the front, lean back and drop the clutch and cover the rear brake. teh best wheeliez evar!!! = ride along at slightly illegal speeds, crest the top of a small hill, laugh as the front comes off the ground you can do either on a perfectly stock bike (well, mine has a slip-on, but that doesnt count, does it?) *edit: forgot the oh-so-fun speed induced hill wheelies.

Stay away from #1 (power wheelie). That chit will get you in ALOT of trouble. Its alot easier to learn the clutch and do it right. Plus its alot easier to control a clutch up wheelie. They are easier to predict vs a power wheelie........I havent found a bike yet that i cant clutch up...hehe=-)

Seems like many of you agree that the F4i doesnt have the low end torque for this task.

I can get it up in 1st by 7-8k without letting off on the throttle to compress the front end, my bike is 100% stock drivetrain wise and at 13,000miles. Liability only insurence means I don''t really practice wheelies so thats about all I can tell you.

For those who like to power wheelie it up. Fyi...they will burn up your clutch faster. I have already replaced two clutches from power wheelies. So I don''t do them like that anymore. Clutch it up...its the way to go.
