sorry folks, I tried the search button but I didn''t get the answer I needed.  I just got this bike and rode it the other day for the first in the streets(just got it tagged).  I put in premium gas just to be safe, but which gas is preferred?  thanks in advance

What about octane boosters. Ive used them in my truck and in my threewheeler. I could tell a big difference in the three wheeler. Will it hurt the bike? And have you ever heard of a moth ball boosting your octane?

You''ll get as many varying opinions on this subject as there are threads on it but imho just do what the owners manual states .. dunno about the 929 but my 954 manual states it requires 87 and that''s what I''ve been using on it since day one without a single problem. Just did a 4000 mile trip cross country using only 87 and no hiccups .. smooth like butta.

Experts give reasons why/how it ignites faster using whatever is recommended .. I can''t go into all that, all I can say is from experience I''ve had no issues using what is recommended in manual in all my bikes.

Yes the last post is correct. Only uninformed people think "high performance" gas has to be used in "high performance" vehicles,..hee hee hee. Maybe that theory is generated by oil company stock holders,? Also look up the word placebo.

Do what the manual saids.  If you don''t believe me go buy a Subaru WRX and run the ole 87 octane in it and find out what happens.

"""yeah i was in a tight for some money and ran some 87 octane once and the bike didnt run worth a crap so stick with 91 and above """

so what your saying is you didnt have the extra 20 or so cents per gallon for the 4 gallons of gas to run 91 octane?

you couldnt spare .80-$1.00 to fill you bike up with the recommended grade of gas, so you were willing to take the chance of possibly F-ing up your engine for a $1.00?

times must of been real hard!

Running 91 here.  Got the bike mapped with that fuel in it, so all should be gravy...

There''s a gas station like 5 blocks from my house that sells 100 octane for like 6.50 a gallon... Might give that stuff a try some time, but 91 works for me!  (I live at 5500'' elevation btw)
