ever notice when you accelerate from a stop the bike kinda starts slow, then all of a sudden feels like 2 more cylinders kicked in??? Flapper mod and power commander, did the trick for me... takes off like a bat out of helll... none of that "lag" when accelerating... i think just the flapper mod alone would help you... i did both at the same time though, and a jardine exhaust.. honda screwed all stock bikes with emmisions crap.. its programmed to restrict airflow at the airbox below 5k rpms or so.. theres a vaccum pressure controlled flap on the intake box and an actual servo controlled throttle body type valve right before the muffler... you take those out you like tripple the power from idle to 5k rpms... worked for me...smoother too...

Your second set of injectors kick in at 6000 RPM.

Nah, he''s kinda right. My 954rr definately had way more ''snap'' down low than my 07 1000rr. Wheelies were in fact just a ''thought''. But as someone else pointed out in another similar post a little while back, it''s a tribute to Honda''s engineering. It''s made to put that power down to the ground in a real world reliable fashion. Think about it (talking to mwr2452 now), isn''t it easier to snap off from a dead stop on this bike than your old one? I was disappointed at first too, but soon realized it''s actually a whole lot easier to ride this bike fast and hard than my older one. Old 954rr had the ''pucker'' factor everytime your wrist twisted, never knew if it''d wheelie or spin tire or what. But this 1000, you twist, and everthing in your mirrors is but a memory. 1000 is way faster... Just don''t feel like it. lol

To BLUE6RR; the exhaust valve is actually there to improve low end/mid range by creating back pressure at lower revs and opening up at high revs. Yamaha patented the system with their ExUP on the FZR 1000 back around 1990; no-one else could copy it for ten years but the midrange on that bike was awesome - and dismal if the ExUP valve stuck open.

Thanks to all. I know it''s crying about the wrong things, but I just wanted to be sure it''s either me or the bike. My last bike (RIP you bad ass gixxer 1G) would point skyward with a thought, just like my 929. I will do the flapper, and will put the D&D slip-on ON in March, along with the PCIII. Thanks again
