I was hoping to find someone who has time on both the 2006-07 CBR1000 and a 2001 CBR600F4I. I have been lusting after the CBR1000 for at least a year and there are tremendous deals available now. My only reservation is the riding position as I am "over 40" and my wrists don''t seem as forgiving as when I was a younger man. I currently ride a Hayabusa and the CBR600 and both have pretty tolerable riding positions, especially the Suzuki. Last week I went by a dealer who had a really sweet used ''07 which I swung a leg over. I was surprised how far forward the seating position seemed. My question is did you guys adjust pretty well to the riding position when coming from a sportbike with a less aggressive riding position? Thanks in advance for your input and ride safe.

why would he want a 1000rr over a busa? Why do some prefer blondes to brunettes, breast over legs, eyes over lips....ect.   I''''m assuming your under the impression that a Busa is faster. It might be faster, but only after it hits 150mph. The liter bikes kill the busa''''s in the quarter mile, in the twisties, in everyday aggresive riding, the liter bikes rule. there really is no better comprimise over power and handling than you can get from a liter bike. the busa is an awesome machine in its own right, but they are two totally different animals. the busa is sort of classified a a sport touring bike, being that it is heavy and long. They are a great comprimise for touring and sport. The liter bikes are all out balls to the wall performance first.. light as they can possibly be and have as much power as they can. But I think from his question he is planning on keeping all of his bikes and just adding a liter bike.

as for the question, you do have more pressure on your wrist for sure. If you have weak wrist, you might not want the 1000RR. But, you say 40 like its old. I know of several guys in thier 50''''s that still ride liter bikes without any problems. If its only your age your worried about, don''''t, you''''ll be fine.

I am 33 and the only time my wrist gets sore is when I havent ridden for a few weeks. I think you''''ll be fine. But, not to deter you from the 1000RR''''s, (they are awesome), but if your going to drop money on a brand new bike, I''''d look at all the liter bikes out there.
