Anybody know anything about the Daytona 675''s? I looked them up, and theyre cheaper than any standard 600 supersport.  Even the special edition (which i think might have a few engine diffs and other than that the paint and all) is cheaper.  I have a friend who''s brother has one and says it''s a sick bike.

I''ve riden it, and have friends that own them and they are great bikes.

Never ridden one personally but friends that have only had good things to say about them. Plus, they sound sweet.

How is the sitting position? I''m 6.1 and my cbr sits very well, not uncomfortable at all

it''s a great looking bike and by all means a real competitor with the japanese bikes, just harder to come by

i always assumed they were significantly more than the jap bikes, so i didnt look at them...maybe next spring i will compare that with the 600rr and the R6.

Hey guys, first post.  Funny that I found this one because the two bikes I''m considering are the 675 Daytona and the new CBR1000.  It''s suprisingly so, because I''m considering a transition from the "Holy Grail" or sportbikedom otherwise known as Ducati.  While I will saidly miss my 996 (yup...I wrecked it in the canyons), I will probably NOT miss the insanely high cost of ownership.  Nothing like spending over $6k in 1.5 years on maintenance and replacement parts!

Anyway, I can land a used 2006 Triumph 675 Daytona for about $6k OTD, and can probably land a CBR for about $10k OTD (if y''all know of a better price here in SoCal, LET ME KNOW!).  The only other bike I''ve even considered is a Buell 1125R, simply because of all the features the bike has at its pricepoint...which I can also land at about $10k OTD.  Suprise, the Buells aren''t selling like hotcakes.

My question is to those who''ve ridden the Daytona AND the new CBR.  Can you tell me which bike you liked most and why?  Thanks in advance for your opinions.

i cant remember if it was sport rider or motorcyclist that did the review, but there was a middleweight shootout between the 600rr, gsxr, zx6, and the daytona. daytona was cheaper than all, more power, same torque, but peaked at lower rpm, similar handling/weight. and imo better looks and sound. the verdict that was given to the daytona was that it is in a class of it''s own. top that off with the fact that there isn''t one on every corner like the aforementioned
japanese bikes, and it''s an awesome choice.

I''d love to have one of those. Get it if you''ve got the chance. On my local craigslist they seem to be more expensive than japanese bikes, out of my price range when I was shopping.
