The tanks are not aluminum.  They do rust very well.  Full tank with stable or equive ist best.  Be sure and run it for a few minutes after adding stable to get it through the system.  Changing the oil is good because it removes all the impurities out of the system.

Oh ya, its going in a garage.

Great tips guys....this is the first toy I have ever had to winterize. I wish I lived in Hawaii......riding all year would be fantastic.

808 your KILLIN'' us northern peeps with your riding all year long !! DAMMIT ! But here in sunny southern Michigan we usually get at least a handfuul of days in the winter that are sunny and warm enough (40ish?) to ride, so I keep her ready to roll. I put in a full tank of premium and Stabil and ride to get everything through the system, wax it up and wipe down everything, lube up the chain, put it on front and back stands, put it on a battery trickle charger, cover it up and and start it up every weekend and let it run for about 10 minutes. So when it''s warm enough to ride I''m ready to go. When Spring hits I change the oil and filter.
