I have an ugly and somewhat ratty sticker on my gas tank and swing arm I want gone. Is there an easy way to get rid of it without leaving some nasty residue? Can I just pressure wash it off and rub it with a rag? I would hate to take it off and wreak my paint.

You can take the glue off with some varsol on a rag. It wont'' hurt the paint. Just wash it really good once all the glue is off.

Heat gun or a hairdryer helps to soften the goo as you take the sticker off.  Pressure washing might work.  I''ve used lighter fluid or WD-40 on a rag.  Some say Goof Off, but I don''t like to use that on paint.  There''s a product called Sticker off, but never tried it.

I ended up using lighter fluid, it worked like a charm. No more ugly sticker! There was some scum (almost like the paint was oxidizing) all over the paint on my tank that the lighter fluid took off as well with a bit of scrubing. (The previous owner did not take very good care of the paint!)
