When I brought my Shinkos tires I opt for the 180''s, thought the looked big than the 160 when installed, but not. Compare them ot my wife bike, which still have the 180''s on and they look the same in width. Also the 160''s have more tire contact than the 180''s which is probably another reason they wore out faster. This morning ride to work was better on the 160''s felt more stable than the 180''s. An by the way look better on the rim too, than the bulky 180.
