This sucks.  Got into a car accident a few months ago and been dealing with lots of shoulder pain.  MRI shows that I tore my labral cuff.  Doctor says I need surgery, so I go in beginning of October.  They''re going to put a couple of screws in, and some sutures.  6 weeks in a sling, and 6 months to a year for physical thereapy/rehab.  Guess my bike will sit for a while.

Thanks.  It''s gonna suck to have to look at the bike everyday, then walk out and get in a cage.  Especially if the weather is nice.

It''s best to heal up right, otherwise that''ll nag at you forever.

Hopefully you live in a place where winter lasts more than a month, therefore you can heal up and not miss out on too much riding time..........and be ready to hit the roads hard in the spring when you''re all healed up.

I can only pray for crappy riding conditions.  I live in Hawaii, so the leaves hardly even change colors.  The only thing is it rains more often, and the days are shorter.

Thanks for the advice too.  Yep, physical therapy is a pain in the ass, but when I broke my back, didn''t follow through and pay for it now.  A full day of riding will leave me hunched over like a grandma with osteoporosis, and popping Vicodin.  So I plan to jump through all the hoops this time.

I got about 2 and half weeks to go, so I''ll be riding as much as possible.

Thanks again for the thoughts and advice.

Had decompression surgery on my right shoulder 4 years ago ... the rehab started the day after surgery and lasted 3 months.  Not trying to scare you but the thing peeps often leave out is that shoulder surgery is the most painful surgery and rehab the orthopedic docs do.  It was well worth it because the intense pain for a week or so was much less than the constant pain before they fixed it.

Good luck and keep us updated.

Well that''s a crappy wish.  What, if you can''t ride, nobody else shouldn''t either?

Nice catch on the Kamikazi/Hawaii relationship Camaro...what''s that all about?

No good mate ..  sounds painful..
I rotated my lower leg near 360 snow  skiing at 33 .. ripped everything inside the knee to shreads..
Thought I would not walk again ..3 mth plaster to the hip , 6 mths in a full caliper..... took 14 mths to walk properly again..
You have to do the physical therapy or as you said ...or you will pay again man ..

anyway .. look at the bright side ...
Time will fly ... think of the polishing time you will have

good luck mate

Common known definition of kamikaze is "crazy or suicidal".  Japanese to English translation is "Divine Wind".  From research that I have done, most kamikaze pilots were devoted countrymen.  The mentality of being the didvine wind, is that these people were willing to die for FAMILY, HONOR, and COUNTRY just like me.

That and it''s also a nickname given to me by my friends because of the way I ride.

Yer...there may be a message in that for you

But remember, they fed those guys up on Saki before they went and did the big one way mission..
to make sure they did not chicken out (which some did)

I went through the same thing in may. It is really not that big of a deal. i was honestly out of my sling in less then 3 weeks. and back to work after 30 days. Unfortunatly it didnt fix it. they missed a few things and i have to have another surgery on it next month. but im not to worried about it. Its a really easy thing to deal with. GOOD LUCK.   hope it goes as well for you as it did me.
