Hey, what's up - newbee to the site here.

Just purchased a 2006 1000 RR (Blue/Yellow) to replace the 03 gixxer 1000 that I sold several months ago. I've been riding for the past 18 years.

Can anyone offer some suggestions on cleaning up the undertail. That stock mud flap - license plate holder has to go. I'm going to replace the stock muffler with a slip-on, but I'm wondering what others are doing with the undertail?? If this has previously been posted, perhaps someone could supply the link to the post.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Welcome to the forum!

Fender eliminators are popular topics... try searching for "fender eliminator" to see what comes up. I have a Competition Werkes on my 1000rr and one from Larry (http://www.sprengineering.com) on my 600rr.

Jardine makes one as well as http://fendereliminators.net.

Hope that helps!

Heads Up, Rice Burner Welcome to the Site, I used the innards of the original..... until i can get a more recent pic of what the end product looks like here it is bare innards... still looks better than the stock wind sail in my opinion.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I've been spending some time looking on the web and there are quite some choices. One thing that I've seen that some people are doing (which I like) is a simple band around the muffler with a bracket for the license plate. I did see from some that they were not satisfied with the quality of a kit by fenderliminators - anyone on this site with a comment about this??

I've enjoyed this site so far, and am always on the lookout for trick mods for my bike.

I just put a www.competitionwerkes.com on my 06 1000RR. Install was very simple... it's a little pricy.... But it looks super clean!

Don't waste your money on aftermarket crap. I made my own bracket for 10.00 and it blows anything else away as far as looks go. Check out my gallery for detailed pics.

Yep...Ive got a plan for a DIY mount...I think it should turn out pretty slick for <$15 worth of Aluminum angle/sheet....I should have it done by next weekend....will mount to the inner batterybox lip/stiffener on an 04/05 and put the bracket at the same location/angle as the ComWerks LTD kit for the 06....Ive got the CA integrated taillight so i dont need any signals.

btw...that $299 undertail kit in the link above is pretty slick....not a bad deal either considering the Comititionworks bracket/signal kit is $170...Id have to see one in person though...

In the end, I went with a fender kit from Larry at the following link. Cost $30. I do know that you can simply make a DIY bracket, but I've looked at these on other bikes and didn't think that $30 was too much.

I'll take the 53 dollar kit. looks pretty good and have blinkers. Free shipping too. Not bad, that will do the job.
