wow 90K, does it smoke at all? has yhe engine been rebuilt or just proper maintenance and valve adjustments? Do you think the newer technolodgy (mine is 04) will hold up as good as your 89? In pristine condition i might add.

Narr , she runs very clean as a whistle, no smokin yet? As far as I know she is untouched , like a good woman ... I am doing a cam chain and tensioner very soon myself as shes a little noisy at start up , like most of these older rides... ( she would not be a Honda if she did not rattle a little mate ) Although I cannot definatively prove that, as I cannot get hold of the original owner.. but the shop I bought her from said she was, as far as they could see, when they serviced her ... all original ... I think good maintenance and not trying to kill them every time you go and ride them is the key to a long trouble free life .. The difference between 8,500rpm and 10,500rpm every time you twist the throttle makes a huge difference in as far as how long they last .. You can push your bike hard without tearing the insides out of her ... A little luck too perhaps as far as how well it was put together at the factory .. helps..

All these people whom you see, hear, or talk to that think 20k miles is high, or worn out, or not worth the money are plain stupid. I have personally had 2 bikes with over 80k miles. I sold them locally and know for a fact they are still on the road with over 100k. These motors are dang near as reliable as a car motor, if taken care of there is no reason they cant see 100k.

An 88 with 90K miles on her. Good maintenance and "sensible" riding help tremendously.

*firstly* Honda + engine = kicka$$, May not be the MOST powerful (but sure as hell close) but the reliability is SO worth it *secondly* A true biker''s bike will last a long time, the problem with a lot of bikes with 20k is that it has about 12k miles of abuse, if not more, because it was squid owned, check the owner history

exelent feed back... I am not the nicest to my 04. I would be happy seeing 80 or 90K. I just hope i don''t get board with it or dead with it. Just keep feeding it oil changes and tires.

Werd he has a Honda Accord with over 300k too lol True, and true! F4i just turned 137,000 miles over the weekend, still running strong as ever! (she turns 4 years old the 17th of next month) No smoke, doesn''t burn or leak a drop of oil, starts up immediatly every time, and still smooth as glass. The Accord is actually creeping up on 400,000 here before too long. About 50 miles shy of 390,000, also still running strong as ever. Been using it all this week towing my trailer as I''m moving 30 miles closer to work.... car is a freakin workhorse if I ever did see one! Anything Honda = will not die!!! As long as you take care of them and don''t beat on it all too bad, these motors will last about as long as you want them to. It''s a Honda, no worries
