I was wondering if anyone has seen or heard a Termi exhaust on a CBR-1000RR????? or now if there is a sound recording of it??? Right now I'm thinking about going with a Twobros exhaust.... I liked the looks & sounds of it... Any help would be appreicated... Thanks, Chris (Wisconsin)

Thanks, Chris (Wisconsin) the termi for the 1000rr is having to be redone. the header flange is round on the exhaust. they are d-shaped on our bike.

i just got mine in the mail. i have a devil on mine right now and love it but i wanted to let ppl know what diff exhausts are like on the 1000rr. i havent installed it yet but now that i know its not going to fit, i may not even try. i will keep y0ou guys posted, or you can just check at my site periodically.

Yes, it is not an uncommon occurance for aftermarket exhaust not to fit nicely. I installed full HINDLE exhaust on my bike, it actually did fit same way as stock, but because curves on the piping are reduced for less resistance the pipe actually melted my lower fairing in one spot (SEE Attached Pictures). I heard that Acropovic exhaust often requires banging and muscle using to fit, few member had hard time with them but that was on R1s, maybe CBRs would be different. Either way, don't expect an aftermarket exhaust to fit perfectly, no matter what type of exhaust you get, also be prepared for some meltdowns, better keep an eye shortly after instalation on you fairings to observe any discoloration or melting. Having to trim your fairing to avoid meltdowns is common and nothing to panic about, just like a lot of bikes require cutting in the side fairing to install frame sliders. In my case, I actually allowed the fairing to melt quite a bit, only then you know for sure how much you need to trim, then I applied some heat reflective shield tape, but I trimmed extra 1/8" around the melted area to make sure no more melting will occure. Don't forget MAPPING, seems like everybody talks about putting performance parts including aftermarket exhausts on, but no one talks about re-mapping the bike, running the bike with performance exhaust (Air Filter, Velocity Stacks, etc...) and keeping the stock MAP may or will make your bike run worse than before. I installed full Hindle exhaust, changed my velocity Stacks, and Air filter, took the bike out still using the same MAP and the bike was running owful, choking and bugging out, so remember about MAPPING, it is a given you do one you have to do the other. As far as Termignoni exhaust is concerned, it was my original thought, but after doing research, I realized Termignoni would possibly give me 1-2HP gain over Hindle and would also cost me extra $1200 CAD, so due mostly to budget reasons, I decided to go with Hindle, also Hindle is manufactured locally, so any support or parts are almost at home, usually accesable within day or two if not hours if you feel like going for a 30min drive. Whatever you'll pick though I am sure will do just fine, I can't remeber when was the last time I saw nice sportbike with aftermarket exhaust and I actually didn't like it, or the sound, so either way they all do the trick, HP gains often only 2-4HP apart among full systems. I know for example that for my bike difference between (Acropovic, Arata, Yoshimura, Hindle, Mocron) in HP gains were all within 1 HP differential. Good luck, and have a blast.
