I went from an 05 f4i to an 08 1000RR, big difference but easy to manage if you''ve ridden the 600 for at least a year.

I have been on sportbikes more than 20years. Rz 350, 87 hurricane, 1996 yzf600, 1997 gsxr 750, 2008 gsxr750 and now on 2008 CBR1000RR. I still have them all... Right now 7 bikes in the garage...and more in storage. I just made the move to the literbike this year...and I love it. The old saying "there is no replacement for displacement" really rings true. After working my way up the horsepower scale, the more I get, the more I want. I also taught on the motorcycle course for nine years(Canada Safety Council). I gave up teaching a few years back so I could get more time on the bikes. We used to teach how to lighten the front end with a bounce or clutching to go over obstacles, Not neccessary with the literbike. The old gsxr was powerful, planted in the corners, and would wheelie on demand too just not as easily as the CBR.

That one is a restoration project and I have no current pictures of it that would do it justice. It currently needs clutch, carbs, fuel tank, engine seals redone, tires and paint. If it didn''t have sentimental value, I would be further ahead to scrap it and find another copy in better shape. It is not one of the seven in the garage either. It rests in storage with the cbx550, gpz550, gs450 on the other side of the country, 3000 miles from my current location. The garage has 2 1987 and 1 1988 600 hurricanes, one 1996 yzf60, one 1997 gsxr 750, one 2008 gsxr750 and one 2008 CBR1000RR in it. One of the 87 hurricanes I bought new in 87, the other two I picked up to restore the first one. The YZF is a frankenbike built from a 95 and 96, best bits of both. The two gsxr 750s were also purchased new no resto required. And the 08 RR s my new baby.
