hi all can anyone help me please . my 1990 cbr 600 fl keeps bogging down at high revs . its fine going around town but as soon as i get on the open road and open it up it dont want to know . i hav cleaned the cars out changed the filters and plugs with no joy . please help .thanks

what exactly did you do when you cleaned the carbs? did you just hose it down with cleaner or take them apart?

bogging at high revs sounds like floats or needle problem.

or starving for fuel... Check your fuel filter, and pump output.

thanks for your reply . i replaced the fuel filter when i cleaned the carbs . how would i check the out put of yhe pump . the pump ticks and pumps fuel at low revs ie tick over . is that normal ?

thank you for your reply . i stripped the the carbs as best i could without getting mixed up . but i did manage to get them clean ie the floots jets and needles and breathers . and still at a loss .

by synching them, I mean basically balancing the air flow to each cylinder.  do a search on carburetor synch, you''ll get the idea. I''ve done every single carb rack I''ve owned, some more than once.

hi i did a carb synk and checked the fuel pump out put they are fine but still the same thing happends .

how about the clamps on the rubber boots?  are they secured properly?  I hear if they''re loose it can cause issues.

just a thought, have you checked the plug wires and coils?  if you''re getting weak spark to a cylinder or two, or more, think about replacing the wires and seeing how much that helps you.  bear in mind the bike IS 18 years old, and by now could probably stand to have new plug wires put in.
