Hey Everyone,
I was thinking of lowering my front end by a few inches. Can someone please tell me what I would have to do. I have a pretty good idea but never did this and I can use some insight.

I know you can slide them up in the triple tree to lower it a little, but I think it''s only like an inch or so.  You can strap it down, but that is more for drag racing and not daily riding.  You could do the fork internals changing the spring to a shorter one, but I think you would run into clearance issues.  Your suspension travel, and performance will be harsh, and handling will definitely suffer by lowering your bike.  But if all you''re after is the look, then it shouldn''t be that much of a problem.

I have a picture of a guy that lowered his bike over 6 inches. I was thinking of only two inches to bring it down a little. I suppose the easiest way would be to slide the tubes up in the triple trees a little.

My canyon carving knee dragging days are at a stand still for now since I hurt my back at work. So I am just doing this for the look and really don''t need to push my bike or myself for now. I am sure dropping it two inches wont hurt handling that much.

I lowered mine two up front and two and a half in the rear and it turns in a lot better than it did factory. here are some pics  I slit the tubes up the clamps i suspended the bike from the front frame support under the tank above the valve cover, lifted it off the ground just enough to get a floor jack under neath it I then loosened the clamps and jacked up the front tire until I had two inches of fork tube sticking out the top of the clamps very easy.... and it looks great...

DBOR,
Thank you for the quick how to. I wish to lower it a few inches like yours or put my handle bars under the top triple tree. I am trying to get a more of a race replica look for my bike. Once again thanks and I will follow your advice when I am ready.

I dont think you will be able to put the clip ons under the top clamp with out cutting your fairing to accommodate the bars. IMO.
