Personally, I will never use Lucas Oil Stabilizer in ANY vehicle after seeing this: http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/images/lucas/lucas.htm I can''t imagine how much worse it would be in a high-revving motor like a motorcycle. Fact is, quality oil has all the right stuff in it already... no need to add more junk to it.

I have used Lucas in my race cars for over 15 years, and will continue to do so. I trust my long term results over Bob and his machine. That said, i would not use it in my bike, main reason is the clutch, it does not like additives.

Just to be clear, I was speaking about Lucas Oil Stabilizer, not their oil itself. TK954RR - I respect your opinion, but I wanted to know - do you have any data (UOAs, for example) to show that it''s better to use Lucas instead of nothing? I mean, it''s very possible that the engine simply "can take it"... but that doesn''t mean it''s good/better for it. I figure a UOA may show something concrete... and being a racer, maybe you do UOAs anyway?

I dont. This a drag car, it gets torn down 3-4 times a year. I cannot say it wouldnt be fine without it, or its better with it. All i can say is i use it all the time, and when i tear down the block it always spotless. I have no proof of any kind, it one of those deals, if it aint broke dont fix it. That is why i say i trust my results, i use it, i have had no problems using it, and i prefer those results over a test that was shown. No more, no less.

I wouldn’t use Lucas Oil Stabilizer in a bike but the guy bobs test is shady at best. What ratio is he using? Or is he using pure Lucas Oil Stabilizer rather then the 20/80 ratio with regular oil or lube? As for using it in motors you should always test the oil under warm conditions not 60F IMO, this is why we warm our motors before ass whipings right. I use to play with hot rods too and I was known to use a 20/80 ratio of the lucas Stabilizer to help keep my oil from turning into water. My oil pressure would get real low at idle (10psi) in real hot Florida days with straight oil, When you have a large ci V8 with high compression, larger cam and a nasty idle your oil cooks although your water temp is at normal. Lucas Oil Stabilizer works well when used for certain things, while using it my oil psi would never get lower then 20psi at idle and as always soon as I bump the throttle she would jump up to 55psi.
