I have a 2001 honda 929 erion, i recently started having tail light issues because someone rigged a converter into the tail lights. the connectors on the tail lights are broken,so we tried wiring direct with connectors, got the brake light to work, still no signals and now my headlight dont work? when the signal comes on the gauges blink and the headlight relay buzzes. any advice? i hate to purcahse a harness and thats not the issue, oh and im only getting 6 volts of power and its a brand new battery     please help!

Factory or aftermarket turn signals?  Or is it a coverter to make one brake light act as a turn signal?

Best thing to is start from scratch.  Remove the converter and make sure you have 12vdc where it needs to be and good grounds on the proper wires.  Once this is established then you can begin the task of adding the integrator or simply wiring it back up factory.

I do not have the schemtic in front of me so I cannot let you know what should be where.

Do your front signals work?

At the brake lights check the following wires.
What do you get for voltage using the frame as ground? Key on engine off

Tail lights Black/white=

With rear brake applied?
Tail lights Green/White=

The next two with the signals turned on (left/right)?
Turn signals Orange=
Turn Signals Blue=

Now check the green wires individually at all 4 places at your tail lights for a good continuity to ground.  They all need to be less than 1.0 ohm.

Now check those same wires BEFORE the converter and post what you have.

^ you should post what the solution was so if someone in your situation comes along they can see the answer instead of creating a thread asking for help

Yes, please post the fix.  Not that it''ll help the lazy ones...Kinda like the posts that pops up every other week regarding "How do I set my clock"...

Sorry so late on the reply, but after we tore the fairings off and got to lookin into the harness we discovered a bad ground on the bike. They had it grounded to the aluminum that bolts up to the steel right by the front forks. So after grounding it onto just steel i got twelve volts back and followed the haynes on rewiring the tailight and took the converter out. Now my headlights and signals and brake lights all work with no problems at all. i do need to find after market tail lights to finish the job.    Thanks again for everyones help i appreciate it

my  bike has the same problem.  i do not have any wires grounding to anything near the front forks.  you said it was grounded to the aluminum that bolts up to steel by the right forks.  the whole bike is made of aluminum, where is this place located.  the only ground that i can find on the frame under the gas tank.  if you could be a little more specific i would greatly appreciate it.

^ sounds like on his bike someone made a new ground spot , the reason you dont have it is because no one tampered with yours. im also assuming you dont have a converter box so what symptoms are you having

yeah, i have a tail light intergrater.  i just got the shop manual today.  i was reading the wires out with a multimeter and im not getting the readings im supposed to.  all  the wireing checks good in the front of the bike, but the wires at the tail light are not right.  2 of the 3 wires are good, the other wire is not checking out correctly.  im going to remove the intergrator and re-wire the tail up correctly.  it is looking like the intergrator is the problem.  if theres any suggestions im open to any.  if that fixes it i will post up the answer and how i figured it out.  thanks for the help
