Hi,

what size fuel filter should I buy?

The diameters run from 1.3" to 1.7"

Thanks.

Go to a motorcycle specific shop and get the right one.

It is supposed to fit in a rubber holder that attaches to the frame.  You definitely want it affixed in that manner so it doesn''t bounce around while you''re riding.

I just bought mine (month ago) and the only differece I found was on the diameter of the nipple where the fuel lines come into the filter and out of the filter. The diameter was I think something like 3/16" DIA. N-e ways the dealer said it was the bigger 1/4" dia, well when i got home removed the old one and realized that the dealer was WRONG, it turns out the smaller diameter was the correct one. As far as the physical diamter of the filter that I dont know, both of the filters I got were the same except for the nipple to the fuel line.

If you still havent found it, go onto www.hondaparts-direct.com and use the OEM part finder on there.  You should be able to get the exact spec fuel filter off there.  (thats where i got mine)

i just went to auto zone and bought the metal one that had the correct size inlet, put it on my bike and it kinda just floats down there under my seat.  bout 1000 miles on it and no problems yet, and it was 1/4 the cost of the OEM filter :)
