You guys are lucky!  I learned about the gear the hard way, totaled my F2 wearing no gear except a helmet.  I had only been riding for a few months and wasn''t any wiser than an infant.  I don''t have any pics, but just think about the concrete eating through a T-shirt.  I will always wear my gear now.  When I first met my girlfriend she used to complain about having to wear her jacket, gloves, jeans, etc.   I think she understands now after some of the stuff we have seen.

Pwned a deer last year. (maybe it was the other way around)

Ended up going over, the bike landed on me, caught my shoulder and ripped everything in it to hell.(still having surgerys) bounced about 70 feet before being stopped by a tree. (shattering my pelvis and knee) I was also dumb and didnt wear gear..i always wore my helmet..but i never took the time to strap it. So right when i went over the bars the helmet shot right off my head. bounced my face on the pavement a few times. Lesson learned..no pics really..just of the bike.

And the stump that litterally saved me. even though it broke some bones..if i would have missed this i would have been impailed by the sharp pieces of fence/brush just a few feet down from this.

Man am i glad that stump was there.

Course they have! But who can follow those acts? Most I''ve done is torn the joint, ligament, and muscle in my thumb and kinda shrugged the injury off.. my dad (a hand specialist) took a look at it a few months later since I said that I hurt it and it doesn''t move as much as it used to and he told me I was stupid for not showing him at first. So now my thumb has limited movement for life but really that''s just a trivial thing compared to these injuries.

got ya all beat!! (maybe)

I started riding dirt bikes when i was 12. I had a honda 125 (CR or whatever they''re called). Once I started feeling more comfortable on it, I started to open her up (before I should have).

Make a long story short, I lost control and crashed into an electric fence. Beyond the electric fence was a thorn bush. The bush decelerated me enough to a stop, then I fell over on my right side with the exhaust burning my thigh. It took me about 2 minutes to free myself.

Let''s Recap:

1) I''m getting electrocuted,
2) I''m getting 2nd degree burns
3) When I move, I get stabbed by thorns.

Worst experience of my life.

oh yeah, when I was 9, my friend dared me to pee on that electric fence. 2nd worst experience.

Ya want an injury story to learn a hard lesson from .. well here is my worst one ..
I learned a ton of things about myself from this one guys..

I do not really like doing this , but in here we tend to joke alot and I think a bit of harsh reality is in order to make especially the younger riders try to understand what can happen if you are unlucky..

Because I have been riding big road bikes since 1975 ...yer I have hit , bounced and crashed many times over the years mate ..

But only once was I really badly injured ...and nearly killed..
I was only 19...
Traveling at over 160klm per hr cranked way over in a big bend on a very narrow single lane main road with 3 mates on similar high powered rides behind hot on my arse  ... all of us going like a bat outta hell...  tree''''s lining the whole road side only 15 - 20 ft away ...

My best mate was killed riding on the back with me at the time as well.

Killed instantly ... he never made it through the trees ..
hit one dead on ...
A lesson for everyone ...

My ride and me smashed our way though the trees over a barbed wire fence and landed in a paddock ...20 mts past the tree line...

I actually only fractured a few bones and generally battered my whole body smashing though and hitting trees up high (because they were low down the bank) as we left the road over a 20 ft high embankment.
My left leg was so battered that it swelled up to no shit 3 times its normal size from my ankle to waist...
Nearly lost an eye because of branched shattering my visor and jaming into the inside of my helmet..
I was pretty knocked about from the trees ..that''s for sure..

I was a physical wreck and a mental wreck for near 6 mths ...

I have no pics of me , but a few of the (at the time was) near new 900 kwaka that I wound up owning for 10 years 90,000 klms when finally sold ..
( turbo charged for over the last 30,000 of them )

Sorry about the image quality but this was in 1976 ..(real print paper) and they are old ..

Did not look too bad at first glance , but she was totally bent and battered like me ..

The tress stripped and wrecked near everything off on the way though .

Yup..that is the grab rail down below touching the exhaust ..

After I finally got the wreck back from the cops
(holding it as evidence for a manslaughter charge)

I rebuilt it from scratch on the dirt and in my van annex in the caravan park we had my van in at the time.. .
Frame was dead ..everything had to be srtiped and replaced ..

I have.

Once the shadow of a buzzard flying overhead crossed in front of me while riding. I thought it was a cat or something. I swerved to avoid it and almost wiped out.

I think about 2 drops of pee came out of me that time.

The lesson: Don''t swerve to avoid shadows.

Trees DEFINATLY hurt classic..break bones like they are tooth pics..and they can bend a bike in half. ( or destroy it like my f4i in my pic above) but the tree also saved me. A random stump in the middle of a field. To me, i think the good lord himself put that stump there. Just wasnt my time.
as i was bouncing around i just thought to myself Oh God this is really it. i dont want to die yet.  and them bam stump.
