I have a 94 cbr f2. check batt voltage engine off=12.96. Check voltage while running 12.5. Check voltage while revving at 6000 voltage higher but still under 13volts. What do you think. Battery was new 2 weeks ago when I first put it on the road. I only work 2.9 miles from home and that is really the most I have ridden it. I only get to hit 55mph for a few seconds during this trip. The regulater seems to get extremely hot while the bike is running. Is this normal? This is all stemming from my battery being dead when I went to go to work yesterday. Pop started it after work got home and it wouldnt start again. Not enough running time to recharge? HELP!

You need to buy a new regulator. Your regulator should be ~13-14.5 when revving to around 5k. My F2 is doing the same thing right now. If you took your 2 week old battery to a bat store, they''ll probably find problems already. The regulator gets hot, but a bad regulator gets hotter. Some people put an extra ground on the regulator, some even put a computer fan on it to keep it cool. But mostly you need a new reg. 160.00 from honda. I''ve heard of people putting gixxer regs in to thier hondas to help too. Just don''t go buy a used honda reg, that''s for sure.
