What is a Jasper Engine?? I have never heard of such a thing... and second off your fairing...is it the original plastic (harder to work with) or aftermarket fiberglass?? Either way you dont want to start to aggresively since it will make your work harder when you go to fine sand it

This is a Jasper Engine - JASPER ENGINES

In short, it is a rebuilt engine.

I just searched the "Jasper" site and there are no motorcycle engines listed or offered??
Maybe this guy didnt know what he was talking about when he sold the bike..I cant find it on that site, I have tried searches, and there is no catagory for motorcycle specific stuff

Well Nitrous... I wouldnt get all wrapped up in the "Jasper" situation...if it runs well just enjoy the bike.
Welcome to the site and good luck with your painting project.
and Baldman..I am sure with our collective knowledge of the industry we can help quite a few members on this site. At least that is my intention is to offer sound advice when I can.
Take care!!
