I''m trying to remove the generator cover on the left side.  I''ve disconnected the 6pt harness following the owner''s manual.  There are 3 allen bolts.  When I put in an allen head and turn it it just pops, and spins in place, starting to strip it.

I tried with both allen wrenches I have and the one with the toolkit.  These aren''t like reverse threaded or anything?

No reverse threading. There''s a bearing inside the cover - tap the cover (gently) - maybe it''s stuck. PM me if you need more help.

Are you sure there aren''t four bolts?

Nope, def. only 3 bolts - it''s the large O-ring and sometimes the bearing in the cover that make them stick, DRam. I''ve had mine on and off about 6 times.....
He''s got it off now, sent me a PM.

Shadow:  Glad he got it off.  I had mine off last year, but couldn''t remember how many screws there were.  Now that I think on it, it does seem that some authoritative taps with a mallet were needed to convince the cover to come loose.  I posted a picture of what was found when the cover came off.

How to you get the clip out between the frame of the bike, the airbox and the wiring harness? I''m having a hard time getting it out, do I need to remove my airbox or lift my tank?

It''s a bit tight, just look for the easiest route - maybe have to wedge something against the airbox to create space. No need to remove tank or airbox. When I replaced mine, I ran the wiring outside the frame, with a protective cover to stop any chafing
