Wow.  Glad you''''re back in 1 piece.  I''''ve had major back surgery, but I can''''t imagine how bad yours must have been.  Fortunately you''''re young so you have lots of time and ability to recover and re-build your back / muscles etc.  If you like to ride still, just get a mountain bike and take it easy.  They''''re a lot less expensive and sometimes can be a lot more fun.  I''''m sure the doctors have already told you this, or if you''''re getting physical therapy still, but be sure to stretch a LOT before you exercise or bicycle.  It''''s actually just as important as doing the exercise.

If you get a motorcycle in the future, remember you need to buy all your gear (leather jacket etc) first.  I assume the picture of you is accurate and you were only wearing a t-shirt(?)

I only had a helmet, t-shirt, and shorts/shoes on when it happened.  Helmet flew off when I hit the telephone pole apparently.  I had a pair of nice riding gloves and I always used a buddies jacket but, it was extremely hot and only went to my friends so decided against wearing it (my luck).  At least it would of maybe prevented a good amount of road rash.  I have a pretty tough stomach but, when I was thrown off the bike the bottom of my hand caught the asphalt.  The skin hanging from my hand after I took off my bandages the first day almost made me sick.  (two weeks later it looked worse ).

i feel your pain man. i was 19 when i wrecked my 900 and i am 20 now, but it was the worst day of my life. like the dumbass i was i tried passing a car illegally on the shoulder and the worst part was it was right before a curve in the road. i don''''t remember anything, but what my friend told me from following me was i looked at him and smiled then gunned it and it just so happened that when i passed the car in front of me there was a truck broke down on the shoulder. i was doing maybe 80 and at the time i wasn''''t sure about the whole front brake and didn''''t wanna grab it for fear of flipping over the bars. so i just slammed on back brakes and skidded into the back of the truck at about 50. all the cars on the road pulled over probably wondering what a dead body looked like, but i just remember waking up in the ambulance and then again in the hospital bed. luckily all i got was a broken wrist, bruised knees, and a concussion resulting in my helmet being thrown off. the neurologist even said i had bruised my brain alittle. i still haven''''t been able to repair my bike and it''''s been alittle over a year, but money is tight. i''''ve ridden my friends bikes since then even though my mom didn''''t even want me to get a bike, but i''''ve loved them since the 1st time i got on one. anyways sorry for the long post, but i am glad you''''re okay man.

Thanks man,   Glad to hear your alright also.

Wow man, Glad to see you back! You chopped your bike in half almost. Not bad!

Glad you''''re still with us to tell us this story. So many people don''''t come back. If you decide not to ride anymore, totally understandable. I might not want to either mang. We all got your back either way man. You''''re more than welcome to hang out with us here in our own demented community we call CBRF.

heh thanks how have you been?

I''ll hopefully purchase another Honda down the road.  Defiantly will stay with CBRF!

yeah i was only wearing jeans, shirt, shoes, and helmet when i got in my wreck. i never kept the helmet strapped (learned my lesson) so when i hit the truck it flew off and so did one of my shoes. HJC helmets FTMFW!!!! only a few fingernail sized scratches on my helmet, but you can''t even tell unless you''re looking for them.
