I think many in here including my self, (that have installed , maintained , operated and upgraded) forum scripts before could have this done 200 times over ....but we are not the powers that be my friend ...
They are obviously a tad paranoid or have pretty average people that do these things for them ???  and we small fish just have to be patient ....
I have offered to do it already but to no avail......
Chill ... the errors and issues are not too bad ...
allowing room for error mate lol. DB conversion would depend on the server the db is on not mine
But yea, patience is a virtue for sure lol

Take some backups and run a few scripts. Rollback is easy.

I think being ignored a little is better than having people argue and hang shit on me at times..
This place is exactly as you put it mate ... "a big dysfunctional family"...and like all families you will need a bit of time to begin to fit in ..
You should also realize that alot of these regular posters are guys that have been here a longgggggg time .. and they are a bit "clicky" meaning that because they are in their own little groups , it takes time aslo to get in with them....
Look at me .. been here 5 min ... 345,000 posts( as I am reminded of allot) ...56,098,654,098 words posted ... including the world smiley record of 6,000,564,123,890,573 ... and I do not know what that number actually is , but its friggin alotttttt....
and I still feel like a noob ......

My advise mate is to drive em nuts and post up and then post up more and when you feel like you are being ignored ....bloody hell , post even more !!!!!!!!

I do this stuff for a living on a large scale and every action has risk assessed and a rollback plan in place prior to implementation.
