Okay guys, I have a brand new battery and new spark plugs. The bike will start up and idle for a couple of seconds, then die. It acts like it is running on two cylinders. Does anybody know what the gas line is supposed to look like when it comes out of the petcock? It looks like it should have a t-connector to connect all 4 carbs. Or the is some kind of extra hose coming off the two right carbs.

There''''s def a connecting T piece on mine.
If you need pics, let me know.
Running on 3 cylinders could mean 1 low fuel level in the tank - switch to reserve and see if it improves.2 The fuel petcock is not delivering fuel. Is your vacuum hose to the petcock connected ?

This is a pic of my backup set with main fuel line on the right, and vacuum hose far left
Perhaps a bit clearer/easier to understand ?
Not sure if yours are the same.......

Dump the fuel from all 4 bowls, this will also tell you if you have a fuel-2-carbie problem.
Check for spark on all 4 plugs, this will tell you if you have a power-2-plug problem.

What year is your bike?

I have a 94, I finally got the bike to go for a ride. However it only runs good for about 4 minutes then acts like it is getting flooded. I can''t keep the bike from stalling. I have been jumping the bike off w/o a battery connected to the wires. Could this be my problem? I have been saving to get a battery but I want to make sure I have everything else fixed before I buy a battery. Is there any forum that shows how to take off the carbs and clean them? And i might try to synchronize them

Plenty of ''how to''s '' for that
look up recent posts on carb synchronisation.
For cleaning removal and reassembly, read the manual - look in the tech section and download it - I''ve left enough links to last a lifetime !

I hope your jumping it off a jump pack or a car battery with the car turned off.

I havn''t tried running the bike without the battery, but, I bet it wont idle and die quickly under low revs

Ok... so I need to connect the main fuel line to the petcock but what about the other two hoses on the top of the carburetor

There''''s only one main hose that goes to the carbs from the fuel tank, and a small hose from the fuel petcock to the vacuum line on the LHS of the carbs.........?
There''s one other that goes to a filter (air) on mine, and a couple of overflows........
