I thought it got to the basics. It's about 75 and sunny here, so perfect for riding.

dont use your clutch...i was doing standups with my f4i in 3rd for 1-3 miles using only throttle......

your just gonna tear shit up using your clutch man....learn to do them with throttle...then work up to standups....in second, then third.....when you can do that...try shifting from 3rd to 4th, then 5th...while still up.....

but be careful man...i never went down doing wheelies but i learned and took my time over like 5yrs.....not just a few months like some guys.....

some GOOOOD roads bro. twisties are the havens for sportbikes. Open, clean grippy roads usually winding down canyons or through valleys, or wherever your lucky enough to find them. Thats what the bike was made for, carving up corners and eating up the straights in between.

Ill agree, twisties are definately the shite... but when you live where im at now, you gotta throttle it up a few times... its just so straight an smoooooth... dont you want your front tire to last longer ;) :P j/k. Im still in the early stages of learning wheelies. I clutch em up in first and ride em out below bp untill around 13-14 though and bring it down as smooth as possible. I havnt figured the power ups yet, i cant get them consistent and i personally have had a lot more scares trying to get it up that way then clutching... but to each his own. Its all in good fun. just wear the gear and be ready to pay the consequences... go at your own pace and eliminate every factor of going down possible.

power wheelies=bad
clutch wheelies=good

go here read that a few times, then go practice A LOT. power wheelies are unpredictable and unsafe. clutching wheelies up is the way to go, and they do not **** the clutch up so don't listen to these people.

ask anyone on that site how to wheelie and 10 out of 10 will tell you to clutch it up and cover the rear brake.

and frame sliders won't do shit (unless they're extended sliders made for stunting), gotta get a cage to save the bike and cash.

Heres some advice don't listen to this guy power wheelies are dangerous and look really gay. Stand staggered clutch it up and cover the brake and you will be riding wheelies the right way in no time..

i could not disagree with you more my friend. But i guess its all what your tying to do, i was speaking more of high/moderate speed wheelies on the highway. not slow speed stuff, thats not my area of experience..... i have been doing them for a long time with no problems and i have taught many people to do them saftley as well...
i do however stand by my statement that you will tear shit up eventually clutching it up all the time.

anyways i guess everyone does it a little different, so just go with what works....good luck all

clutching wheelies is not just limited to slow stuff, and i will stand by my statement that it will not **** your clutch up... do as you wish, just don't kill yourself with those pow pow power wheelies.

it's hard to control power wheelies. but with the clutch it's the same sound and r.p.m. every time I did power whoolies for a long time and as soon as I learen to clutch it they came easier and more consistent and +1 on they look better
