Hi guys ...

I just got my baby started after not being started for about 10 months. Shes quite rattly so i''ll adjust the balance shaft and see how she is after that... Prob do the camchain too...

My prob at the momemt is that there is petrol leaking from the bottom of all the carbs. I''m not sure of the exact location as I''m not keen on taking them off ( never been that brave before, lol ) And the drips off the bottom of the float bowls appears dirty.

Is there an easy fix ( carb cleaner etc ) or am I going to have to remove them and get them looked at???

Thanks in advance for your advice..

Cheers, Barry.

I''m told that Seafoam might be an answer, but I''ve never used it myself (can''t buy it here)
Dirt may not be from inside carbs, but accumulated crap from outside....
I''d suggest you ride the bike for 100 miles or so to allow everything to settle in again, and then see if it''s leaking. Probably won''t be, she''s just sulking !
If you need help with carb removal later , let us know or PM me - happy to help, it''s not difficult.

yer 10 mths will do it every time mate

You might like to try the old tap a blunt end of a screw driver on the bowls to see if any floats are sticking??
Make sure none of the over flow hoses are riding high too...they all should ber below the carbs mate
As Pete said , most of that gunk will be the fuel cleaning the outside of your carbs mate ...I doubt if it would be coming out of them ...??

You could try a carb cleaner ( from any good motor spares store ) fuel additive ..if shes been sitting for that long , I hope you drained the tank before you started her ??

If everything fails, Pete will jump on a plane I''''m sure and come do the removal for you hes a good guy mate ...

So that''s where
The Cabbage Patch Kids

Hmmm - just swim across the Bass Straits for starters, and work up from there.....
If you make it !

UPDATE:   I just picked up a dropped ( crashed )1990 model for $500. Rego and wof ( so dont have to go thru re-vinning mine )

I''ll be transfering all the good stuff from mine over to this one and be mobile by the end of next week. plus have a truck load of spares.

Not much plastic salvagable but a few good items that will be handy to sell and re-coop the outlay.

Thanks again for the advice recieved and i''ll post some pics of her when she''s finished....
