I recently got a cbr1000f to play around with and I was wondering if anybody had succesfully put dirtbike bars on their CBR? I don''t plan on stunting at all, its far to heavy and the forks won''t hold up to it. I just like the look of a naked bike.

Thanks!

Welcome to the Forum !
If you like the look of naked bikes, why buy a Hurricane ?
Straight bars have been done - I think they look crappy though.
As for offroad bars, you''ll have to pull the fairings off, which sort of makes buying a Hurricane a bit pointless, IMHO.
Look up previous posts, or Google Tony Dilworth - he did a conversion.

Thanks for the welcome! I got the hurricane for 400 bucks with a rebuilt engine, and I couldn''t turn it down. I just want somethign to have fun with if it turns out looking terrible or I don''t like it, I just resell it and make my 400 back. So far I love the bike though!

400 bucks ..........watch out - you''ll get arrested for theft ! he he
If it was done properly (the rebuild) that motor should last you many years - they''re no good for stunting - far too heavy, but wheelies aren''t a problem if you don''t mind replacing all your fork seals etc every few months - they''re a bit heavy for it, and the front end doesn''t like the continual thumping down. I''m a bit of a traditionalist, and like them standard (well, almost) but there''s plenty of power, and at around 5500RPM, better hang on when the afterburners kick in.... 100MPH will come up at the top of third gear...........
Make sure you have good brakes and tyres to go with the power - your life could depend on it. Brakes are not up to modern superbike standards, the bike''s heavy, but with practice you can get it to stop quickly enough. Enjoy !
Post up some pics and tell us what parts you need - we''ve all got stuff lying in our sheds....

welcome to the forum!
May I be the first to say " Put your location in your profile" so we can see where you''re from. This is a worldwide forum and it helps some of us keep things straight when pointing you towards good parts sources
and if you pull the fairings off i get first dibs :)

seriously...if you pull them off i need right side upper.

Thanks for all the welcome! I do believe I am going to keep the fairings on hand, in case I decide to sell it at any point, or decide I want to go back to stock looking. Shadow1 your first post was exactly what I was looking for! I''''ve always like the look, and I will probably use this one for cruising around so I want a little more comfortable of a ride. I have a 94 CBR600 for my "sportier" needs if you will.

Fit some Tomaselli or VFR Bars, or look at Pacojoseph''s (Hi Paco) bike........lifts the bars about 1 1/2 "
