so here is the deal guys.. just picked up a really clean 954rr first cbr ever and i love it. it pulls hard has hell and is a sweet ride. so here is my issue. when i start bike and it is cold it runs ok but u get that bb in a can sound. you know rattle sound. so from what i have read it sounds to be a common problem. tha bike runs strong and does not hesstate abit. just rattles. i am no pro but from reading up it might be a cct issue?? any ideas?? if it is would it be smart to instal manual cct? considering it runs strong with no popping or hesatation is it safe to drive with out blowing it up!!!???? i love this bike best i have ever owned dont want to blow the thing up. any advice you guys can give me i would appretiate. i used to rid yam r6 and now i will never go back!!! mad 954 love.  help me out please. r there any other common issues i should look for to keep this thing tip top???

Yes, relax and actually give your thread a little time to ruminate. Lots of very educated people here, you''ll get help.

I think it''s the CCT... Mine has been doing it since I bought it (~3 years ago) and haven''t had a problem with it.  My 2cent.

you want to check and make sure the knueter valve is properly aligned and adjusted. If it isn''t it''ll starve the rotor calipers of oil and thus the sound ''bb''s in a can''

ok not to sound like a dumb ass but i was always told it is better to ask... than to act like u know and make a fool of ur self.  so if u dont mind where exactly is the knueter valve? and what function does it have? work at all with the cct or diff part of motor? thanks for the help.

Congrats your a ****ing moron! Seriously why would you even give a respose like this to someone, Dammit you really pissed me off.

JLB ignore this post, the guy is just playing with you.  As for serious advice i can tell you this, our bikes do have a lot of natural valve train noise. To me it sounds like what you are hearing is normal. Mine did get a bit louder at around 15,000 miles and i did replace my cct (with at manual one). It helped the extra noise i was hearing at the time, but it still sounds like a few bb''s in a can. So if you have higher milage (dont see yours listed at all) then you can consider it, but its not likely your problem. It should also be perfectly safe to ride as well, get out and enjoy it, you will get used to the noise.

so my bike is high miliage... should i concider changing cct to mcct or is it pointless considering it is still goin to make same sound. it rides smoth and pulls hard so should i worry at all. or just ride like hell to drown out the rattle LOL.

Replied to your PM, anwer is in there.

Also dont freak out if you make a post here and it takes a half a day or a day to get an answer. We have had some forum problems recently, and lost some of our members. This also isnt the busiest site or section alive. That said there are a few of us who check this daily at least, so if you dont get an answer right away, just hang in there

As tk954rr so eloquently pointed out, I was messing with you. I hope you didn''t lose sleep over it;) (google knueter valve)

As for tk954rr, I put a post on forums once in awhile like this for people just like you. That would be the uptight ain''t been laid in awhile kind with no sense of humor.  But I''m sure you won’t see the humor in that as well, so my work here, in this thread, is now complete.

And remember, it''s better to be pissed off, than pissed on.....

Ya know your wrong. I do have a sense of humor, and in the right place a can appreciate it. However this is a new member, asking a serious questions, and the fact that he attempted to take your advice is all the proof i need. So if i dont come in here, this guy goes to the dealer tomorrow asking about a knueter valve, and gets laughed outa the place. So he thinks we are a bunch of dicks and never comes back. To me thats not funny, we need good new members here. Now had you posted that after the guy got a real answer, or in a thread even by a veteran who would know its a joke is a whole nother thing and i could laugh about it. There is a place and a time, this wasnt it, and im sorry you cant see that.
