I have an ''01 929, original owner with nearly 40,000 miles.  It has a Power Commander and M4 full exhaust with modified Kerker slip on.  My mileage used to be in 150 to 160 miles per tank for the first couple of years.  After it started to decrease the mileage it even slipped below 100 miles a tank!  It does worsen as the weather gets colder.  This past winter is when it slipped below 100 miles/tank but as summer came around it got back up to the 130 miles a tank.  I am guessing that it may have something to do with the Inlet Air Temperature (AIT)Sensor.  The diagnostics run ok on the sensor but I''m still not convinced this sensor is the culprit.  I also believe that my 929 should be capable of the mileage it originally got (150 to 160).  With that, It makes me feel that there may be another sensor that is not working correctly like the TP or MAP.  Although they all check out ok according to the factory manual.  Has anyone had a similar experience with their 929 and cured it of these ills?

How does it run? does it run rich? maybe a new map for your PC or an updated one. Ive seen maps get screwed up and have to be reloaded.

have done any mods to it since the lower mpg. Sprockets or anything like that? different profile tires?

Through the last year with all the ups and downs in mileage the bike has been on the dyno quite a bit.  It was tuned to the optimal AF ratio initially and not changed much (horsepower) each successive dyno pull.  To look at the exhaust, it shows a slight rich condition, the dyno says by the AF ratio it is pretty much optimum.  The power is relatively unchanged no matter the ambient temp (summer/winter).  when the mileaage is at its worst it still makes the same hp plus or minus one to one and a half ponies.  I''m at loss as to what to logically try next other than replacing the sensors I mentioned in my first post to see if any of those takes it the right direction.  I''ve seen quite a few other threads/posts on this forum where other 929ers have had there mileage fall off as well.  I am guessing we all are having the same problem and probably requires the same fix.  If anyone has any ideas I''m all ears and I will post any success I have.  Thanks.

it''s normal for the bike/car/truck to lose gas mileage when it''s cold outside, it takes longer for the vehicle to warm up, air is cooler/denser, winter gas is different too.  If you need more explanation, let me know
