Does it only happen when you are cranking over the bike or when it is running?  Any particular RPM?

Welcome to the Forum !
Either the camchain or tensioner''s worn, or the ballrace(bearing) in the stator''s stuffed.
See very recent posts on this issue (and plenty of others)
Could even be primary starter chain..............UGH !
CC and CCT, also Stator bearing a relativley easy fix.....
If the noise goes away, then it''s probably camchain/cct
If not, maybe the others.

I would guess its probably the cam chain tensioner or cam chain, or the chain that runs the alternator or the other chain that runs the oil pump.  There are three chains in the beast and anyone of them can be noisy.  I wouldnt even worry about the alternator or oil chain as I have never heard of one letting go.  are there alot of miles/kilometers on your Cane?

11,000 miles it is loud, it kinda sounds like a rod knock, but its not coming from that area.

Sure thats not 111,000 miles???  Can you record the sound of it and upload it to the forum so we could hear it?  does it knock under a load or just sitting at idle?  There is a balance shaft adjustment on the right side of the engine.  You should read teh manual on how to adjust it (rather quite simple) and ensure it is where it should be.  A couple guys on here found theirs to be out quite a bit.  Shadow might just have the manual kicking around someplace if you need it.  He''s good that way!

You can replace the camchain and tensioner , and the bearing in the stator at home - just need a set of allan keys, a set of ringflat spanners, a torque wrench, and the spares. If you use a Honda camchain, you have to remove the engine, but if, like us, you use a chain like the DID or similar chains, which have a master link, it''s fairly easy, and will take you about 1 day for the lot, if you''re methodical, and have a basic knowledge of how engines work.
Search the site for the How To on Camchain replacement - good articles from a number of members. I have pictures on all the above if you need them.
