has anyone removed their exhaust valve on the 07 600 rr? i read something very small about it on the 600rr.net. but there was nothing stating if there was any power gains. i assumed that the valve was to make sure that the bike had good power and torque throughout the rev range.

There are no power gains. It does free up junk and save about 2 pounds of weight. I sell on the WERA board servo eliminator kits for $30 shipped. If you want more info PM me.
