Hello. Im new to this but found it here online and need help. I just bought a 91 f2 cbr 600. The bike has around 17*** miles on it. I''ve owned it for 2 weeks and it has run fine since the day I picked it up. Today on my way back to college it died on me. I was doing around 60 mph when it started sputtering, I had assumed that it was out of gas so I reached down and turned it to reserve. It picked back up and ran fine immediatly so I continued on my way. Drove another 12 miles or so and then sputtered a few times, and missed, and shut off maybe 10 seconds later. I had assumed I was out of gas but realized that there was definetly enough gas to run. I then noticed that the horn didnt work. Then tried to start it and it wouldnt do anything. I let it sit for around half an hour and then push started it. The bike started and I rode another 3 miles, let it run while filling it up with gas and left. 30 seconds from the gas station it sputters and misses and then shuts off. The bike has no lights and the starter wont even click. I let it sit again for 30 mins, push started it, drove 2 miles does the same thing. Sounds like a stator to me or maybe a rectifier. Should I check the resistance in the stator and also the diodes in the rectifier? I believe the battery is nearly new. I went ahead and purchased a used stator and thought I would try it first. Any help would be wonderful. I only have this bike to commute between school and home. ( 110 miles ) So any advice is great. Thanks Adam

Definately have a look at the regulator/rectifier. I''d do this first before I replaced anything else. The F2s are known for R/R issues.
