I have a 2002 f4i. I first got the silverstar and they made a huge difference over stock. Soon after I found a good deal for a single HID for around 120 with shipping. I got the 10,000k which is like a blue spectrum. All I can say is wow. When you turn your bike on your hear the ballist warming up and the lights turn on. It's like daylight. I'll get some pictures soon. I'm new to this forum so don't have any pics up yet. Installation was very easy for the single unit. I left the highbeam with just the silverstar. The HID is brighter then the highbeam. Anyquestion just send me a pm. peace

MY two cents. I have xenon/hid on my audi. At night I didn't like how I couldn't see the road, like there was a glare. I did some research and found that yellow will reduce glare and show the the road alot better. Well, I bought two yellow can't remember K output but where high performance and WOW did it help. Everytime somebody gets in my car at night they notice it. My friends that have HID/Xenon now have yellow fog lights.
I'm just waiting for a big move and then I"m going to add a yellow to my driving light and two HID for my brights. I have a '03 954

thought I would add that you might check your local laws about that. That wouldn't be legal in Missouri. Just so you don't get effed with.

I have 8000k HID's on my car and even though a lil more blue than i was used to at first I can see road changes just fine and the distance is good but not very fun in the fog.
On my cbr I plan on going with 5000 or 6000k instead because i think more natural colored light would be better with the bike's narrower beams and i dont think i'll like them being that blue with my bike being red.

Just dont go any higher than 8000k, my friend decided to be a douche and get a 12000k; first not only was it the most annoying looking set of headlights ever but just from sitting shotgun i started getting eyestrain from tryin to watch the road for about 15 or 20 minutes.

I purchased and installed an aftermarket bulb...word to the wise, just pony up the money and get a HID kit. There is a difference between the factory and the aftermarket bulb..... but really not worth it. I still feel that i would easily overdrive my sight at night. aka go to fast for what I can see with my new bulb in my bike. I know that HID's cost a few extra bucks, but it is worth it, and I am going to purchase them shortly for my bike. Sure I wasted a couple of bucks on the aftermarket bulb, but at least I gave it a try and can speak from experience and knowledge now.

I have HIDs and I love them I love the change that so much that later that week I had all the lights in my truck changed to HIDs too. I don't know if I can drive without them now.

i know with my cars white headlights, when its moist out i cant see anything. although thats probably because my headlights are about a foot offthe ground so the reflection angle is next to nothing

Couple of thing you guys need to know about HID. Life of the bulb depends on how many times you turn it on and off. Each time you turn it on, the ballast sends a large amount of voltage to the bulb inorder to ignite it. After that it''ll only consume 35/50/55watts depending on the ballast you get. That''s where the trouble is, on warmup it''ll consume alot more power then a regular halogen bulb leaving you with burn wires. This is the reason why most people run new wires with a relay. Not ever car/bike need new wiring though. 4300K is the brightest temperature you can get. As you go higher it''s gonna get more blue and eventually pink. Lower you go it''ll get yellow. HID bulbs alone does not create a cutoff as on of the member here stated. It''s the actually housing that creates the cutoff. You''ll see cutoffs on cars with projectors. Honda s2000 and TSX got one of the best cutoffs. They are also one of the widest. Put HID in a halogen housing and you''ll have light going all over the place. You''ll blind everyone in front of you. Ever see cars with blue lights and they''re blinding the crap outta you? That''s cause they got HID bulbs in a halogen housing.
