I dont think there are to many people that have been swapping engines. Id just take some measurments of the engine cage area in comparison to other bikes. It would probably cost a lot of money to convert this also. Probably better off buying a bigger bike. Daniel Thompson

Are you good at fabrication? If not, the size of your wallet will decide the size of the engine. Tylor

The 900rr motor will fit, with some mods to the motor mounts and also the top brace that runs from left to right above your airbox has to come out. Now if you think about it, the new 919 has the same 900rr motor, and it has fuel injection. Oh the possibilities!

There used to be a site called motomorph but they went out of business. It ends up being trial and error. You might try google and see if there are any other CBR sites or F2/F3 sites.

ORIGINAL: heavychevy what size motor can you put on f2 frame I might be wrong but i don't think Honda intended for 900rr engine to fit a f2 chasis that old. The frame, forks, and swingarm are different. Not saying that it won't work but why not just put an f2/f3?

Why do most of the people here have nothing but bad stuff to say about anything that seems to be different in the way of what was factory design.Maybe this is a hobby or just a fun little project for someone.Don't come around spitting your useless thoughts at everyone. We don't want to here it.Today people we want to know what engine is known to fit in this chassis.I read of this on a forum at cbrworld.net.There was some modification. The modification can be done yourself using a cutting/grinding wheel, and a welder.pick these up your self can save big bucks. the top of the frame was notched is one thing i remember and the head looked tight in the top area of the frame

I'm SERIOUSLY considering swapping a 900 into my F2/3 and just selling my f3 motor. Turbo the shit out of that 900 motor. How much can the stock internals take?? I'm sure i'd do low comp pistons at the minimum tho...

your stock internals would be ripped by a larger size turbo my buddy has a 900 motor in his f3 and its a very very fast bike. If you do the swap take some pics and do a write up on it this is a very cool swap im going to do it withen the next few years.

i am almost done with my swapping a 94 900RR into my 94 F2- its not that hard you just have to keep putting the motor in and taking it out to make adjustments alot.. and weld a new rear lower mount in and mod the airbox.. i didnt notch my frame though i just shaved the head off the acorn nut that hits on the right side. but i am taking a TON of pics so i will get a full write up in the DIY section when i am done and let you guys know on here... i also have a picture of every single thing that i am taking off- in case there are any questions where something goes when someone else does it and when i put mine back together.

You are bracing the frame to take the extra horsepower RIGHT? See people don't seem to understand that the manufacturers shave every bit of weight they can on sportbikes. This means that they frames and swingarms are only made as strong as needed for the power they intend to acheive. If you are lucky, then what you do will still keep you in the "safety margin" that the manufacturer builds in. If you aren't then you crack a frame and C-ya. A F2/3/4/4I is not a Hypersport that was built with the understanding that people were going to double the power output. (see Hayabusa, ZX12R, CBR1100XX, ZX14R)
