What is the best way to remove the hand grips from a '01 F4i without cutting them off?

I just took a can of WD40 with the red straw that comes with it and slid the straw under the grip. Work your way around the grip, spraying the WD40, until the grip is loose and slides off. Took me a few minutes on each grip.

Mine were stuck on there good and i also used wd-40 and it worked like a charm

I use compressed air blown through an air tool with a tapered tip. The blown air expands the grip giving it a cushion of air all around the bar allowing the grip to slip off as well as slip on when you are installing them.

Thanks for the advice guys!! I will have to try using WD-40, sounds like it works pretty well. Any tips for putting on hand grips?

yea i changed mine to the harris carbon grips, air compressor is the only way to do it i think. and to install the new ones, hair spray. soak the bars with the hairspray and it slids right on but you gotta kinda do it quick and set it cause in about 45 seconds its gonna get sticky.

You can use a heat gun or hair dryer on a low setting to warm them up then use some wd40 to slide them off if you don't have a compressor.

I removed my grips tonight and it was a piece of cake. I used the advice of the WD40 and I also used a flat head screw driver. I used the screw driver to help separate the hand grip from the clip-on and then I used the WD40 and sprayed it up in there and the grips slid right off, no problem. As for putting the new grips on, I used the hair spray method, I sprayed the inside of the grips and some on the clip-on and they slid on nice and easy. Thanks again for the advice.
