Im getting ready to buy a 2000 929RR. The asking price on it is $6350.00 and this includes a new textile armour Jacket and gloves. The bike has 11,000 miles on it is this a good price or should I look somewhere else?

If it is super clean, it is an OK deal at best but better deals can be found. Back in December, I picked up my Erion 929 for $5400. It had only 8,200 miles on it and came with and Erion Bros. exhaust, extra tinted windscreen, practically brand new Dunlop 208s, and a rear hugger.

So to get back to the original question, it is ok but if you are willing to wait a little, you should most definitely be able to find better deals than the one you presented.

Whatever you do, good luck. I can say from experience that no matter what 929 you pick up, you will not be disappointed.

I agree with pistonpete here. I got my '01 last summer for 4800 with some rash on the right side and less than 5k on the clock. Mine had a Jardine bolt-on and DID chain as the aftermarket goodies. I'd say wait on it and find yourself something nice. People are going to be overpricing their bikes right now since people want bikes for the season.

Got a 2001 with 8900 miles last September for $3500 - a little rash, but the price was cheap cause it had a "rebuilt" title. The bike was beautiful, but when you buy one, you can't insure it for anything but liability - no collision, theft, nothing. So who's gonna spend $6k on a bike you can't insure? It's way more bike than I could otherwise afford.

Got my 2001 Erion with 11K on the ticker and in mint condition. Had plenty of extras and I only paid about 6000 after all was said and done. That was a good deal in my book.

If you haven't already checked out the blue book value. I would do so just to have a good idea what the bike is worth. No matter what the extras are, you still have to deal with a bank (i'm assuming your getting a loan). The extras are always a plus. Check the bike over very close for the tell tale signs of tip-overs & lay-downs (mirror edges, exauhst canister edges, bar ends, blinker enclosures etc). I own a 2001 929RR and it has 4200 miles on it. I bought it used for $5500. Yes it came with lots of add-ons and extras (undertail kit, Flushmount blinkers front and rear, Jardine RTONE slip on, GPR Dial stabilizer, smoke tinted screen, Alpine Stars MX series Jacket w/liner and body armor, HJC matching color helmet, Extra tinted visor for HJC). You get the idea. The extras can be worth thousands of dollars but they dont usually mean shit to a bank because you only can use the bike itself as collateral because its considered "Real Property". With reguard to your direct question consider the milage and the age. $6000 would be a better deal. Ask the seller and you might be surprised.

Jeez. The way you guys are talking, I'm feeling better and better about what a pain in the butt it was getting my "rebuilt" title moved to NY from Vermont. Like I said, mine was $3500 with 8900 miles and in beautiful shape. Just some rash on the left side. I figured the most these bikes were getting was in the low 5's. Good to know.

Any way you look at it, there seem to be some very good deals that you guys are finding. Yeah I feel very good about the deal I got. Absolutely no blemishes on my bike. The price was a steel and the extras were just the icing on the cake. I couldnt be happier.
