I would be interested in hearing your opinions on the Laser exhaust. I found them a few weeks ago and cant find anyone who's got one.

I'll report my findings as soon as the system has been tested. There is a delivery time of about 2 weeks until I get it, the Laser full systems for this bike are only built on orders.

i had a V&H 4-1 on mine when i bought it. for me it was WAY too loud. down right annoying for anyone riding behind me. i got a little creative and bought a two-bros. C-4 slip-on. i cut the old V&H can off and coupled the two-bros can and small piece of pipe it came with to the V&H system. works pretty good. cant really notice the hybrid system i have unless you really look. sounds good too! the only problem i have is that the V&H pipe it starting to rust thru in some spots. gotta get a new system at some point. just my 2 cents.

R1000,

Do you have any info on this exhaust system? I am hoping to do a 4-2-1 system and am trying to find the best bang for the buck system. Thanks.

I had a horrid exhaust fitted to my CBR1000F when i first bought it - with standard VFR750 can welded on the end...
Took me 6 months to find a suitable second-hand system.....almost ended up blowing £400 on a new one.....
But i hung on and a complete stainless steel Micron system with race can and road-legal one popped up on
good old Ebay!We won the bidding for it at £250 which was still a saving over new

I also have a K&N filter fitted, and what i'm hoping someone on here can tell me is that is it absolutely necessary
to re-adjust/rejet the carbs....i haven't had much experience with carb-fettling.

Some people say that if its running ok then just leave it,others say that if you don't re-jet then you'll end
up burning the valves seats out...

What should i do?

Well, I had a V&H on my bike for almost 25k miles with a K&N air filter with no carb adjustment...so far no burnt valves (just my bike, I would recommend rejetting though as with both pipe and filter you will be running leaner than stock.)

You can find info on http://www.laserexhausts.com/ The system I bought is the full Pro d'Or 4-2-1 system whith SS downpipes, middle pipe and can. I've been using it for some weeks now and can definintly say that I'm happy with it. Also got many positive comments from others about the nice apperance and that it lifted the bike. I had ugly dual aftermarkets mufflers earlier and is glad to get rid of those and to loose the weight. After the initial impression that the sound is great, which it is, I have realized that it is quite loud. I is louder than the race-baffled Yoshi system to my GSX R. I will not do anything about the high sound level, but if I would use the bike much late nights in populated areas I would have to reduce the noise level. The mid range power increase by the system is impressing and the bike feels much sportier.

Here is a pic I posted in another thread. The system has been re-adjusted since, it is slightly more bent upwards at rear and moved a little closer to the frame. It was not in parallell with the frame at initial mount.

That is a nice looking exhaust. Does it allow access to the oil filter and plug and does it allow use of the centerstand? Sorry for all the questions.

Oil filter and oil plug is as accessible as with the stock downpipes. I also believe the centerstand would be OK, but I took mine away to increase ground clearance on the left side and to get rid of some unwanted weight. When I need to lift the bike, I use a separate stand (track type, beeing a stupid Swede I don't know the name of that thing) which hooks to the swingarm. I also have a telfer in the garage when I need to lift the front e.g when changing front tyre.

I have the black widow full race exhaust. When I first got the bike, it was obnoxiously loud. It is a full titanium header and mid pipe, with a carbon fiber can. I don't know what the specs are on the pipe, and even worse, black widow went out of business for motorcycle exhausts. So my problem now is if in the event something happens to it, I would have to replace completely or find suitable fix parts. What I am doing is taking a micrometer reading of the inner diameter of the can inlet and seeing if there are others out their that will match up.

Your right though, the prices are right up there.
