At the end of the MSF course, I talked to the Rider Coach/Instructor and asked him... "Hey, I'm 19 years old, no exp on bike, just passed the MSF course, and it says on the certificate that it can be used to lower insurance rate with SOME companies, do you have an idea which off the top of your head?" and the answer was that i have a better chance going with the smaller companies because they have a better chance in accepting to giving you a discount for taking the MSF course, whereas the bigger ones DON'T CARE if you have passed the MSF course or not.

OK OK OK...

Im 20, 5 no registration tickets, 5 no insurance tickets, 3 driving on a suspended, 2 driving on a revoked, 1 running a redlight, 1 failure to make a complete stop, 1 no seatbelt, 1 speeding 7mph over (bastard)!!!

I pay 52$ a month for full coverage, and 18$ a month for a $50,000 life insurance and DI policy... I also pay 30$ a month for liability and uninsured motorist and medical on a 2000 taurus. That car isnt mine, I insured it under me for the bike lol....

So its not impossible to get GOOD INSURANCE RATES... The insurance company I go through is Country Insurance, a branch off of Allstate...

YOU PAY 5000$ A YR CAUSE THE NAMES.... GET A COMPANY WITH THE SAME SH*T AND ITLL BE 90% CHEAPER LOL...

Progressive quoted me 6000$ a yr I believe, and gieco said they couldnt insure me, and allstate UNDER MY PARENTS POLICY WANTED LIKE 800$ A MONTH FOR LIABILITY...

I said go eat my nuts, and talked to EVERY RIDER I came in contact with and found an old friend of mine that was a insurance agent... And he's been hookin everyone up ever since...

Dude, I don't suppose your friend can hook me up in Phoenix? I'm paying 1200 a year for liability through Progressive since nobody else would insure me. I have 1 accident in a car and 1 failure to make a complete stop also in a car. I seriously need full coverage but can't find a company willing to cover me.

I'm 25, have had no tickets, no wrecks, and have held a motorcycle license for eight years. I called Geico (with whom I have two cars insured) and they quoted me $1900 a year for an '05 600rr! Insurance is such a rip off.........I hope State Farm is significantly lower.

Hi everyone,
I'm new to the bike world, and I just bought my CBR last Friday. I specifically financed through a company that wouldn't require full coverage so I could just get liability. Full coverage for me (25 yr old male, married, clean record for 9.5 yrs) was $2200 with progressive.

Now, I was in disbelief when I was reading all these postings about State Farm, so I called them for myself.

Man, Gieco ain't got anything on State Farm. 5 minutes could save you 90%. They quoted me full coverage at $341.

Make the call, it possible that it could save you TONS of money....

I had the same thing happen to me with progressive. I checked Geico and they wanted 1200 a year. For kicks I called my current provider who does our two cars and house and they gave it to me for 600 a year full coverage. We use AAA Insurance which has other benefits too. I am older and I don't have any tickets so that goes in my favor, but they are one of the big ones and I was pleasantly surprised.

I got an OK quote from progressive. 2500 a year full coverage. Im 23, single, have speeding violations, safety course, licensed 7+ years. For liability it was dirt cheap. But i have full coverage and gap insurance to cover any difference between stated value and financed value. my bike will be paid off if anything happens to it. Alot of people stack on race bikes, gotta pay to play

I went wite Country Insurance they only go by the cc rating and not the type of bike. It dose make a difference on your credit score(allthough it shouldn't) but I'm paying $24 a month on a 05 cbr600rr
