okay last week i posted a ? about a "Viper" alarm i found on my F-2. yesterday i played w/it for a while, i dont have the clicker. the guy who sold me the bike did not tell me about it or he did not know it had one, iam 4th owner of said bike. any who i held the hot to battery and the thing started to make a small weak sound then i connected what looked like a ground to the frame where there was already a screw in the frame then i touched the hot again to the battery and the thing started wailing away, let it go thru the cycle and it stopped after 1 full ear spilitting minute, also i found a small toggle switch under the rear fender one pole had a wire running to the alarm the other pole on the switch was with out a wire, found another wire in by alarm that might be the missing wire but when i connected it to the switch nothing changed, moving toggle either way while toching hot to battery only made alarm go off again untill it cycled off. with hot not touching battery and key on it makes that weak sound again until i disconnect ground from alarm. after alarm does its thing i shake the bike to see if it goes off, nothing. so here goes. can i save this alram w/the small toggle switch [ by the way, why is the toggle switch there any way ???] or do have to have remote??? or do i junk the alarm ??? seems like i found a free alarm would like to try and salvage it, if i can, i know the alarms are only about $100.00 or so. but hey im cheap, so any body w/alarms on thier bikes tell me how this all works, appreciate any info.
