Hey we go, just bought a '00 929, riding home everything was fine for the first 20 miles or so. Hit a stoplight waited for my green light and took off, went another half mile and hit another red light and when I pulled the clutch lever back in, to my susprise there was no resistance at all. Once I got home, I inspected, cable was still intact and not broken, I proceeded to adjust the cable to its fullest extend both and the bars and on the engine case and it still did nothing. I took the clutch cover off and everything seems to be allright, fiber plates are within spec. and the metal plates are not burnt or scratched bad at all. I've never seen a cable stretch in a matter of seconds and not brake so I'm looking for any susgestions what so ever. I've got a new cable coming in tomorrow, maybe my some mericale thats all it is, who knows. The clutch has never slipped on me in the two days that I did get to ride it so this all came with no warning... Hopefully someone will have some insight.

Thanks in advance for your help-

Sorry, no input for you, but congrats on the purchase. The 929s are one of my favorite bikes along with the 954. Hope you get everything worked out, and let us know what it ended up being.
