hahaha yeah its not cheap but if u wanna be faster then the other guy u have to pay to play , but if u think about it the bikes that stuff came from was worth about $200,000 so really ur getting a good deal, lol i know a guy selling volocity stacks , aluminum brand new that are exact copies of erions for about 250 a set , good deal considering erion used ones are 400,

anyway if u run into money (alot) and decide u wanna fix her up thats the place to call

Hey, ericmxzx440.
I can only tell you my experience, which I posted some weeks ago in answer to another question -

I got my 929 with stock 15 front and a Spocket Specialists 48 rear. According to my manual, 42 is stock rear, but I read somewhere prior to getting the manual that stock was 41 rear. So I ordered a 41 rear from Spocket Specialists.( I guarantee some of you are already laughing...)

That's when I realized - when you shorten a chain, you have to shorten it by at least two "teeth", so to speak. So you can go from 48 to 46 or 44 or 42, and so forth and just shorten the chain by a link ( two teeth ) at a time, and not have to adjust the rear axle, and keep it in the "good zone". In my case, I had to compensate for the "Odd" rear number of teeth by either moving the axle forward to where the tire almost touched the swingarm, or rearward (which I did) to where the wear indicator is just at the aft limit ( indicating a worn chain, even though it isn't worn).

If you can picture this, if I were to go to a 16 front with the 41 rear, it would pull the axel forward again and the wear indicator would be where it belongs.

PS - should add, I can't get ANY TWO SOURCES to agree what stock gearing is. My last post is nothing more than a shot at explaining what can happen when you switch fron an even-number sprocket to an odd, and visa versa.

16/43 or 16/42

I think it may depend on year, or manufacture date.

One tooth is going to make very little difference.

if you figure stock speedo is off by approx. 5% high, then putting a 42 tooth on the rear would probably correct most of the error.

stock it 16/43.

i got a 520 quick kit from sprocketcenter.com for a good deal. gettin that put on tomorrow.

I called the FACTORYPRO autherized tun eshop today and to get my web cams and dyno tuned with Digital 4 Gas exhaust analyzer
for about $650. the guy said the cams alone should get about 7-10 hp, and with the right tunning prolly 10-15 hp.. some where around there .as soon as i get the funds and get it done i will post my base line and tuned dyno sheets. We'll see.

Yeah man, if it is coming apart anyways, get some top end work done. Porting & polish job would be a good idea. You know, for the cost, you could throw on a small turbo & leave the cams alone.

Start off reading that post on www.rrzone.com

Mr. Turbo kits are real expensive, like 3 grand expensive...

Getting a smaller ball bearing turbo, and rigging up an intercooler could be done for much less if you have the skills. It might be a little easier on the older 900's, I could see alot of dyno time in your future if you attempted this, custom mapping would be a must. From what I've read, a smaller turbo is better. You could get 30-40hp without stressing out the engine too much.

Smaller also = no lag.

You can also control how much boost you want, so if you want it to perform mostly stock, then you can, & then unleash the beast when you want.

make sure you let us know if you go with the smaller turbo! i wouldn't mind getting an extra 30hp also what kind of hp gains can you expect from doing a port and polish job?
