My bike started about 2 weeks ago and I rode it to work. I came back from vacation and tried to start the bike but it makes a lot of clicking noises, but does not start.

The battery is new and I charged it just in case. It sounds like the clicking is coming from right under the battery.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciative.

Sounds to me like your battery is shot my friend. The clicking sounds would be coming from your starter solenoid. The starter will "click" because its not getting enough juice from the battery. Take your battery in and have it tested. If it is new, whoever you got it from should replace it free of charge or at least they should. Let us know what you find out. My money would be on the battery. One question for ya. What charging level was your charger on when you charged it up and for how long did you charge it?? Sorry, 2 Q's in one. LOL.

The battery is a month old and I just charged it for 12 hours on a smart charger that quits when it is full. I have it set on 12v 2a, and 12 volt charge. So a slow charge. i am going to charge it again and see what happens.

if the battery is totally dead...it may not even want to hold a charge.
also, if the battery is only 1 month old, the problem may be your charging system...it's not working. so since you swapped the battery out...it's been draining and draining.
why did you replace the old one to begin with? because it no longer worked correct? but did you diagnose your system to make sure it was the battery that quit?

jump start it. drive it for a while it should be fine. seems like there may be a slow drain but if you ride it more often than 2 weeks itll be fine

Yeah if your tossing batteries out then you have a problem with you charging system. The voltage regulator is problably bad. Hopefully its not the stater. That could be expensive. I asked about how you were charging your bat because if you charge a bat to fast for too long you can boil the acid out of it. Like in atvs. But if you say you charged it slowly then i would look at the charging system closer.

If the battery turns out to be good, maybe the starter solenoid is junk. Try setting up the bike like you're going to start it, (key on, neutral, etc.) and jump the solenoid. Go straight from the battery to the starter. It it will fire, you've got a bad switch somewhere.
