Dang, they look pretty friggen bright. Now, not to jack this thread, but, does anyone know if F3 pegs mount up to an F2? The passenger pegs? Cause, F2's are held by a rod, not the aluminum you can drill out. If they swap, i'm def. doing this mod!!

The F3 pegs wont work. I have an F3, and the only way I could do it is if I drill and mount the leds on the side of the peg, kind of defeating the whole purpose of putting more light in the rear. There is a small piece of aluminum in the way on the pegs. I was going to do it, but I went out anf took a closer look at my pegs.

If you look in my gallery at the close up of the tail, you can see the small U-shaped pieces welded on there.

I put mine in the pegs instead of the bracket.

I'm looking to buy some LED's to do the same. The LED's used on your bikes, what is the Luminocity of them? It should be some number with MCD following it. Also, do you know what the viewable angle of the LED's are? It should be on the package.

I've found some 60,000 mcd (which is very bright) yellow LED's on e-bay but the viewable angle is only like 15*. Just curious if you know how bright they are, and if they can be seen well during the day from behind/to the side. Thanks!!

15000mcd seems super bright. thats like yea. .. really bright. i have some 3000mcd 3mm yellows in my pegs that i put on about a month ago. they are plenty bright enough for people to see. i drilled 5 holes on each side and after wiring it up i used rtv to seal the peg from water getting to the wiring. holds up fine

Nice write up man. Gonna put some on tonight. Do they need to be orange or yellow for them to be street legal? Does anyone know? Gonna put on either white or Blue.

I had some yellow LED's laying around in the tool box so I figured why not give this a try? Well those bulbs were kinda old and the leads couldn't take to bending and twisting so needless to say, I had to scrap those yellow LED's and go out and buy some more... much to my sha-grin Auto Zone and Advance Auto don't carry yellow LED's so I went with red - to match my Electropod kit. I ended up wiring them as turn signals after much thought of making them running lights. Unfortunately the exhaust canister blocks much of the light on the right side, but it still looks good.

At any rate, I think Advance Auto has a better selection of accent lighting - at least they do in the Saginaw stores. I got 4 bulbs for $8.88 - pretty much what you would pay on the internet/eBay. As far as the drill bit size goes, that all depends on how snug of a fit you want. I actually experimented with a couple different sizes before I found the one I wanted. If you accidentally drill too large of a hole, you can make up for it with the epoxy... but don't get too careless with the drilling.
