Dang, they look pretty friggen bright. Now, not to jack this thread, but, does anyone know if F3 pegs mount up to an F2? The passenger pegs? Cause, F2's are held by a rod, not the aluminum you can drill out. If they swap, i'm def. doing this mod!!

CBRJeeper:

I just wanted to correct something that was said incorrectly in this thread.

F3 passenger pegs can go on a F2, you just have to put the whole mount on. I just did that on my 93 F2. Looks much better than the steel tube. The F3 mount only connects at 2 points, where the F2 mounts at 3. No big deal, you just don't use the third. I picked up a set for $10 on ebay.

I picked the LEDs up from Auto Zone as well. O'reillys does'nt carry them if you have that store in your town. You can also pick up all the parts that are in the kit at Radioshack just assembly them yourself, but RS leds are much britter. All they are is LEDs inside a plastic cover, with wires presodered to each LED.I made mine as snug as possible, so i gradually drilled it larger, wanted it to look factory done. Very pleased with result.

brancart1 - Well any additional light is going to help, whether you're still running a stock set up or aftermarket. Depending on your point of view you may not be able to see the bulbs at all, just the light coming from them. But the emitted light is definitely still visible. Still well worth the time and money IMO.

I just wanted to throw my in $0.02 after getting everything wired. Thanks again to everyone who contributed to the thread.

What size wire should I buy if I need more to connect everything? I went to Autozone today and picked up the LED's (same ones Pilot LED Accent Lights) I also picked up some Epoxy. The only other thing I should need is more wire right? What kind should I get? Size?

So the only other part I have a question I have is about connecting the LED wires. I have never taken the rear blinkers apart. So all you do is cut of the old blinkers and tie in the new ones and that should be it?

Thanks all.....

Drew

Not sure exactly what size wire I bought, but AutoZone, Radio Shack, etc. all have small spools of wire (red, black, green coated)... just go for that. I think it's 18 ga. but not 100% sure.

As far as connecting them up is concerned... you'll want to keep your "old" blinkers hooked up as well. The peg lights aren't the greatest (by themselves) in the daylight. So just slice the new LED's into your current turn signals and you're golden.

ahh ok I will just go to Radioshack and talk to the guy then. Thanks!!!

So you just left your old rear signals on??? I was kind of doing this so I didnt need those huge amber lights on back there. Anyway I think I will just splice the new LED's into the rear blinkers then just snip the old one's off.... does that sound like it would work?

If you look at my photo gallery, second picture I believe, you'll see that I no longer have my stock turn signals. Now there are 2 small turn signals on the underside of the fender eliminator (difficult to see in the pics). To be honest with you, you can't see any of my turn signals during the day... not real bright like OEM is. I have resorted to using hand signals during the day and when I am in traffic. At night, on the other hand, the smaller turn signals that I now use are highly visible.

All I am trying to tell you is that before you cut the old blinkers off, take a look at how (not) bright those LED signals are in the daylight. You may want to have more back there... maybe you don't.

Right on. Thanks for the heads up. I was thinking the LED's would be bright enough. I will definetly test them out before I cut the old ones off.

Thanks again for the help!!

So I went ahead and installed the LED peg signals, everything turned out great however now no matter if the switch is on the left or right only the left peg flashes (it flashes on left even when the switch is on right) the wires are connected exactly as they were with the factory signals. Anybody have any thoughts? This is a 93 900RR

it looks to me like it is a one and one quarter inch bit cause a 1/4 inch bit is way to small for the size holes that are in the pegs
my only problem is, since i am not all that good at wiring, how are the leds wired together? in a series or what? please help lol

Are you crazy? Have you ever looked at a tape measure? Your putting in a small LED light. Do you know how big 1 1/4" is? Definitialy not 1 1/4, its probably 1/4 inch, not any bigger.

For the guys that are just buying LEDs that are not prewired with an inline resistor, NOTE: You must include an inline resistor and you also must get the polarity correct.
