+1 on that, or so it seems.

I didn't encounter that problem at all on my bike. I am not sure if the wiring on the older bike has something to do with it... do you have schematics (wiring diagrams) for your bike?

Ok I put the LED's on my bike last night. I went ahead and painted the back pegs black as well. (The bike is soon to be painted black) sorry for the bad picture but the girlfriend has the good Digital Camera.

Green wires from stock harness go with Black wires from the LED's on both sides. So just remember green to black and red to whatever else.

have you guys thought of using those LEDS from radioshack. The ones Im talking about have 3 wires. One neg, one pos for the red, one pos for the amber. This would work great for brakes and turnsignal augmentation!

orange and blue are positive current wires
green is negative, or ground wires

Again, this write-up looks awesome! Thanks so much for the walkthrough.

I've got a question though: Wouldn't it be kind of tough to fool around with the passenger foot pegs after it's been set up?

Here's why I ask: I'm sure I will inevitiably have to change my rear tire. I've got a hugger on the backside, and with my particular hugger, its absolutely necessary to take out the left passenger footpeg in order to remove the hugger. If the left passenger footpeg is a pain to remove or cannot be removed, I wouldn't be able to change my tire very easily.

So, for those of you that have done this mod, what does it look like when you unscrew your left passenger footpeg? Does it dangle? Is easily detachable? Is there enough space to take off the footpeg and have enough room to install a new tire without any extra trouble?

Speculations and facts welcome :)

use a molex plug (see: harness) so you can disconnect the peg when you need to remove it :)

That's an excellent idea! Did you just pick up a few molex extensions or splitters and use the wiring and plugs? Or was there some special way you did it?

superbrightleds.com has some of hte best leds around. I used them in my show truck, and when I get a bike I am going to use them again. You can get tri color leds, single color, different shapes and everything. They have brightness options and viewing angle options.
