I never use the choke, I just turn the throttle just a milli-bit, it usually start on two cylinders and after a couple of seconds, all 4 are running, it will stall if I don’t keep the idle up using throttle control for the first 1/2 minute. I haven’t tried using the choke, maybe I should. If I use too much throttle, it won't start

Well today went well no throttle no choke pressed the starter and after about 10 seconds she was purrring, must have been the plugs or might have been a faulty or partially blocked inline fuel filter either way she start this morning and the is afternoon with out a problem now I can get on with the serious part of riding her every day

Most of the way, the whole assembly started moving, so I will have to tighten it up a bit, what I like was before I had to manually maintain the idle, this way I don’t. and it started on all 4, not 2. I will be playing a bit with it to find which method work best.

With these cool spring mornings (45F) here in Boston, I start mine with full or 2/3 choke every time. My starting routine (that even worked when it was 35F outside) is: 1) Full choke, turn the engine over for 3-5 seconds (shouldn't need this long unless it's really cold). 2) 1 Quick twist of the throttle 3) Try turning it over again Usually, if it didn't kick on the first few seconds, it kicks right over after the slight venting of the carbs from the twist of the throttle. On the 40F days it kicks right over with the choke. Mine definitely needs the choke to start. I'm betting once it's about 60F out it probably won't be much if any choke required.
